At the risk of ruining any resale on my MK18 :) I am posting this thread to display what I think is one damn well build rifle. For the last year and a half I have been feeding this rifle a steady diet of 400-600 rounds every week shot all in the same range trip, rounds were fired in succession in strings of 120 rounds then reload and continue. For all you froglube haters this rifle has been properly frog lubed since day one. At times the gas tube has been glowing, I burned the finger on a glove clean through on the flash hider accidentally once as well. The rifle was cleaned every 1000 or so rounds, had 4-5 stoppages in all these rounds, one was a double feed from a worn out mag, one was a light primer strike due to a dirty fireing pin channel, two were a failure to go into battery fully due to a dirty chamber. I changed the buffer spring at around 15,000-20,000 rounds (ejection was working its way rearward) gas rings and everything else is original (gas rings will likely be replaced shortly). It has worn an Allen gun works linear brake since new (just installed a Lantec dragon prior to the pics), raptor charging handle, and an aimpoint pro. Her are some pics (I really need to change the aquarium bulb in my bench light, sorry about the blue tint).

This is very pleasant to ear for 2 things... The legendary durability of the DD and.... Froglube... Winning recipe... Thanks for sharing... JP.

Amazing.

Has accuracy held up?
What kind of ammo do you usually shoot?

Accuracy is bang on, that being said my range is only 50 yards and I train CQB style so majority of shooting is done at 25- 5 yards. First 1000 rounds were Norc spam can 5.56 all remaining rounds are remington factory .223.

Thanks, just about bought one today, but pulled the trigger on another pistol and finished my noveske build instead. Tomorrow I'm going back to call it a done deal.

You won't be disappointed. I've had a noveske 7.5" a DDM4 V5 and my wife shoots a DPMS and I will never trade my MK18. When this barrel is shot out (who knows when, the rifling is still sharp) I will rebarrel it with another DD 10.3"

Great to see! The DD torture test is one thing, actual CGN user experience is another. Thanks.

I am in awe of how well this rifle has held up. I shoot with a group of people who's rifles cover the range from Norinco to PWS and back. Most are LE and mil with a few of us civi's mixed in. This rifle has out performed all of them, with the exception of an ACR that has not been cleaned in 10,000 plus rounds! That's is not an exaggeration, the rifle is owned by a remington dealer who is torture testing it. If anyone else has a rifle approaching this round count please chime in with your pics and experiences. I hazard to say this is the highest round count DD around. I am very fortunate to have the access to the ammo that I do.

####y pics but this is my afghan build I finished today, she's all noveske with exception to the AAC flash hider, and topped with ACOG M4 RCO and it's 75rnd grouping at 25yrds lol. I'm still going after mk18 though been eyeing them up for a while

I think the point is he didn't spend anywhere near $8K on ammo.... :)

Bingo. Even if I had what's wrong with that? This thread isn't about how much I spend on ammo, I merely wanted to share an experience with my rifle that many people never see. All day long here people post about shooting out barrels with less than half of the rounds I have through mine, all while heating it up to cherry at times. Look at these pics, I could sell this rifle tomorrow advertised as only seen less than 1000 rounds and it wouldn't get a blink.
