RO's who cheat

Vince Pinto already knows. There was a thread on Global Village that got locked down almost immediately.

true.

mr inflated's pressure went up as he was banging his head in total negation ; an RO who tricks the score?? : '''absolute sacrilege''', '''''impossible'''', ''''never seen that happening in 30 years'''', '''''RO's are models of honesty and can't be dishonest by nature '''''' blahblahblah....

Well because of course it could only happen in USPSA, if they would just adopt the IPSC rule book they wouldn't have these issues.

One of the vid showed the RO, a white shirt timing for another white shirt. Would that not be a conflict of interest?

Replying to my reply. According to a tech geek I talked to, Blutooth should be able to transfer all that data much faster than that, something is wrong there. But regardless, there are solutions to this that could be implemented over the next year. Maybe NiftyBytes should build a shot timer that works as above with PractiScore???

Rob, ask your tech geek what is the difference between "should be able to" and "actually does" :D
I already mentioned why they did it that way - iOS is a closed platform and certain things don't work as one would expect...

Dump the Ipads and focus on Android then dude!
A wifi timer would solve all that though right?

cheating is hard to avoid sometimes , there have been allegations of cheating in some of the action shooting sports in Canada as well where some squad members have to work as ROs . Some clubs have been trying to break up the idea of squading with friends to avoid this situation , and make sure everyone is timed and marked fairly........

At least they're trying to do something about it. Unlike some orgs/clubs that just label those who complain as "whiners and troublemakers" and carry on as business as usual...

Hey, tell that to your friends at DAA or any other timer manufacturers. :)

Though from the technical point of view, WiFi module would eat somewhat more juice from the battery and will cost more. But then possibilities are endless and one could probably fit it inside a yellow brick. There is enough empty space in there...

Hmm, how about a wifi module that plugs into the USB port, Hmmm. Yeah getting ridiculous now.

Quigley, I agree with you, and that's the least that should have happened.

So now, that piece of scum resigned without getting booted, while his butt-buddies are thanking him for his years of service (service = screwing over a bunch of shooters and putting a black stain on the sport) and inviting him to their sections. I'm betting he'll be back at it a couple of years from now

To the members of USPSA Area 6.
I have spoken with people that I trust and respect their views.
In review it appears that I have fallen short in safeguarding the trust and duties place with me in this sport.
I apologize for those shortcomings.
I accept the full responsibility for my shortcomings, as well as, any pain or embarrassment caused.
I have resigned my membership in this great organization.
At some point in my future I hope to rebuild that trust.
Humbly Submitted,
Paul Hendrix

I think that this scandal will mean a lot more people will start double checking their times when they shoot.

Which is good, because paying attention to your time means studying how you just shot, and hopefully improving.

But bad, because it indicates there's a weakening in the trust between shooter and RO.
