Colt Canada rifles to the public?

honestly i am stunned, i really didn't know the numbers are staggering.
They're Remington's number one volume seller, some individual Wal Mart stores sell more guns than our distributors. They buy enough guns from each maker to buy direct - they completely by-pass the distributor chain, and handle their own distribution.

So, they DO have the sling mount on the receiver end plate (which is a CF rifle feature BTW, except ours is rounded-rectangle instead of triangular), but no ambi charging handle (which is a mixed-blessing item at best) or Norgon ambi mag release.
Not quite "made to the same specifications as those provided to the Canadian Forces" there, but still pretty sweet.

As I said earlier, the average unit cost is (and I have the list right in my face) 1850$ and the Elcan is 800$. So gents, I think it will go around 2k, but not 2.2k or higher. As said here:

True that, but Geez.... try to find a whole platoon that can shoot 400m. So, even if every soldier had a KAC (or whatever rifle anyone would thing best) it wouldn't change sh*t. Got enough problem just buying ammo.

Ya think? I'd agree, less than 10K units...like 8500 less units.
What with Colt Canada making them in batches of a 1,000 I'd say 1,000 to 2,000 made max. and only the second thousand once the first thousand gets close to being completely sold. If they have slow sales (after the initial frenzy is over) there may not even be a second run completed for a lengthy time period. I suppose it will all depend how serious the LE/Mil. members are actually willing to buck up for their own C7/8 rifle.
If the pricing comes in significantly more then say a Daniels Defense rifle (which I suspect) then it may be hard for many to justify the cost. Also I would assume that many who would like to buy a Colt Canada rifle already have a decent AR (myself included), which would mean taking a loss on selling their current rifle or the more expensive route of purchasing a second AR (not that having a second AR is a bad idea).

I forsee people buying 2, 3, more of these rifles and trying to sell them at ridiculous mark up prices. The EE will be full of them. Nothing makes people NEEEEEEED something like telling them it's limited edition and there's only X amount.

I'm betting that most people buying these will be civilians. There's a lot more civies that want these than actual military.
lol, comeon, no one will buy, at that price its a noveske or a kac, if colt thinks were that stupid they know nothing about the ar15 market in canada.
If they release 1k of them and call it a limited run, I'm sure it will stimulate at least a thousand saps to buy them.
For $3K, I'm buying a PWS with money left over for nice optics.
The guy you quoted is on my iggy list, but he's right - Colt Canada (as opposed to Colt) does/can make every one of it's parts in-house, how many other AR makers can say that? None. These could be 100% Canadian content, which, apart from CF/Mil/LEO sales is the fist time it's ever been available to Canadians. They'll charge, we'll pay. I can pretty much guarantee it.
Didn't you buy a Christiensen Arms when you could have had a half dozen other quality known brands? How many paid $700 for a POS Norc AR when a known brand could be had for a little over a grand? If people were savvy with their money we wouldn't have most of the sh*t we see for sale.
