interested in getting a TIMBERWOLF. anyone have a review?

Ian doesn't enjoy people talking trash about him online based on rumors?? Imagine that. He received precisely the response he should have expected from myself for spreading that crap (in addition to flying his true colors).

I am sorry you had a negative impression based on your previous experience. Should you wish to discuss anything of a positive nature involving rifles and accuracy please feel free to contact me at any time.

While you were busy "schooling" some one you let your true colours fly.

I contacted you a few years ago and you left me with a negitive impression of the company.

If I had contacted Steve I bet that I would have one of your rifles by now.

Picture from Western Canada F class championships.
Winner of F open on left and winner of FTR on right.
Also noteworthy the FTR winner had won the rifle at an earlier match.

The thing both had in common - both PGW products.

Rifle with Grey stock - built by Steve for himself.. never shot it, sold it to a friend who eventually passed it onto the Gent in the Grey Tshirt. Very low rds fired when SteveB got it. I have spotted for this rifle shooting out to 960yds. It shoots and holds a very tight vertical.

Given the number of high V count plaques this rifle has earned, it shoots.... that would mean the rifle allows the driver to hit sub 1/2 min on demand way out there.

Rifle with the Tan stock. A prize won at a previous Westerns. Off the production floor. Even has the det mag DBM in place so no fancy "single shot". The Spanking Glen gave the rest of us at this Westerns, the gun shoots. I was squadded with Glen and his rifle so I have FIRST HAND INFO on how it shot.

I am not going to debate about the Coyote from a working mans prospective as I have none but I can say, from the perspective of a competitive F'er, a quality match barrel installed on a Coyote takes a back seat to nothing on the market today.

Yes, their steel receivers are heavy but obviously, can be used to make weight in either class. Now there is a Titanium receiver which saves a ton of weight off bringing this robust receiver into the realm of standard actions.

I have shot a Coyote with the folding stock. The owner and I have different set up needs but the adjustments would have made that change simple. Despite not having a perfect fit, it shot well and recoil was easily handled. It cycled, fired, ejected, did all the things a rifle needs to do... no drama, no muss, no fuss.

There was no wobbly, sproing or wiggle in the buttstock when locked up. One of the most rigid folders I have had the pleasure of shooting.

No other experience with the larger Timberwolf but a whole lot of brave men don't seem to complain.

A PGW product will be in my future. I don't know them personally, but I know several satisfied customers who have let me shoot their rifles, and I have been consistently impressed with the quality and accuracy. I don't give a rats arse about a few unconfirmed lemons from years ago in the earlier days of the company, especially when there are thousands of proven rifles out there in the field and on ranges.

IIRC this is not the first time that Ian has had a dispute with Ross and Steve, and it seems like a broken record from him, speaking from my relatively unbiased perspective.

Keep up the good work guys, and let your work and the success of your company speak for itself, as you have always done.

Will its a good thing ian is out of buissness he may have found himself in a law suit.
After all if I did read right he said he has no first hand knowlage of the so called PgW issue.
Having been at battle with another MFG that makes products like ours, I will tell you, yes tell you ian. Best to shut your mouth.
The fact I felt I was in the right is besides the point, even with first hand knowlage and photographing evidence, its not worth it to bash the other guy.
I have shot 5 PGW guns eveyone of them performed beter then anything I had used in the past.

I can't say enough about the service and open communications I've had with Ross....probably drove the poor guy nuts with phone calls and emails before getting my Coyote. I am a very well informed consumer and do my research and have found some vendors get frustrated if you ask too many questions....that tells me that they don't know their product like they should or feel that it's a gift that they even return your email or phone message....I won't deal with that type of customer service no matter what they are selling.
Ross always took the time and made arrangements that suited me....all that and provided an awesome product! I will be adding a T-Wolf soon as well.

OP....PM me your email and I will do my best to scan a review from 'Tactical Weapons - Military & Police' Nov. 2010.

Now that I think about it... I do have one negative thing to say about my PGW experience... they shipped too fast... I wasn't expecting it to arrive so quickly so thinking I had time, I went out of town to visit my sister and it arrived the next day, so she had to sit in a warehouse at the couriers til I got home a few days later. My baby was in a cool warehouse when she could have been warm and cozy at home... lol

I am not a competitive shooter and probably never will be, but I like to shoot at stuff that's waaaay out there. PGW filled a need for me quickly, professionally, and always took time to answer an email or call.

When the time is right, the T-Wolf will be mine as well.

Cheers, YC

Won the Canadian military contract. That's tough to do. I haven't shot a timberwolf but had the pleasure of the coyote. It was amazing. A Coyote is on my list once I can afford it. +1 for buy it

After a few conversations with Ross, I had him build me a Coyote chambered in 7 WSM. It was quick, I had one issue that was taken care of quickly and Ross compensated me WELL for a very minor inconvenience. That was 6 years ago and have done plenty of business with him since. I don't want to understate how well he treats all of his customers, especially his loyal ones.

Hey Ian, I would love to see some of this info you have on helically fluted barrels. Mine has no problem doing 4" groups at 1000m and it's not an anomaly.

To the OP you are welcome to shoot my Coyote if you would like to see how their product performs, I'm in Calgary.

Not sure what the negative comments are all about. I don't have a timberwolf yet, but the workmanship that goes into these rifles is unbelievable. I feel privileged to have had a tour of the facility and witnessed the pride and worksmanship going into each and every rifle. These are not production pieces, they are serially produced custom rifles. Seeing slabs of titanium, aluminum and steel become individual parts and the time involved...worth every penny. The meticulous testing of individual parts to tolerances in fractions of an inch so small they aren't discernable to the naked eye.

Steve and Ross are stand up guys. You figure that out in about 30 seconds in person. I walked away with a beautiful .308. When the time comes to explore larger calibers, I won't hesitate to give them a call.

I remember Ross flying to Toronto to conduct some business he brought a customers LRT-3 along and delivered it in person and brought him out for lunch. Now thats what I call customer service lol!

Ian.........wow!

If you're ever in this part of the world and want to handle and shoot PGW products first hand then send me a PM and I will get you squared away. I have a 500m spot to shoot all you want on.

You really need to get some time behind the wheel and then tell us what you think. Way more credible that way.

It'd be interesting to have a 'customer appreciation day' of some sort, have customers out to the factory for a tour, go out shooting, have lunch at the range, We can all bring our guns, see all the different set ups we have... maybe have a couple factory guns so we can try different calibers for those of us with only one of your products, get us hooked and want to buy more... (I already want to buy more) :)

sorry to highjack a bit there
