Tavor fever

What a blast the Tavor is... Never had so much fun at the range... Had no problems hitting the 200Y gong....

I kind of want to try the AB Arms T-grip. Supposedly was designed specifically for the Tavor in partnership with IWI US.

I've got one that I've been tinkering with. They're quite neat, but not your normal "index on it" kind of vert-grip. They're made to wrap your hand around.

Are we transitioning to a Tavor-in-use picture thread? Had a great time at the Lethbridge 3 Gun yesterday!

Oh and I forgot to mention, I so need a Super Sabra... Missed the 200 yard gong a few times caused by the trigger pull...

Lol, ya it's the triggers fault ;)

Of course, I can also blame the Elcan... lol... No way was it my fault...

I had 4 different people at the range ask to try it out... I guy said he was buying one tonight... lol... ( T97 owner by the way ) ....

Was probably because you weren't wearing your sunglasses. Was the glare :D

I need the Gear Head work rail... The glasses would get in the way trying to get a cheek weld...

I installed the Timney trigger and tried it today. Totally different firearm. Something 5x better.

Cant wait for mine then. Nice setup BTW...

Thanks. I got a lot of compliments. But even more importantly, zero misfires with 240 rounds and 4 brands of ammo, including comm block surplus.

all I used today was that sh!tty norico.... Its back in the safe. Ill put 2000 rounds thru it before I clean it....

These rifles look great and I want one but accuracy always seems to be the elephant in the closet. Nobody ever really posts any pics of targets...very little youtube info...are they really that bad. Im not too keen on throwing 3 K on something that looks cool. Do they at least shoot better then a Mini 14??

Cheers!!

1.75 moa, consistent 5 shot group at 100 yards with hornady vmax, with pictures to prove it.
i did a real in depth ammo and accuracy review on the tavor, I know your search kung fu is limited so here:

Its a combat rifle. I bought it knowing is was a 2 MOA gun. I still hit the Gong at 200 yards no problem.

I have yet to do a proper range report... But when my Super Sabra gets here, Ill slap on my Sightron and do a 100Y and 200Y review.

But seriously I dont give a sh!t about MOA... I shoot steel to have fun. Why people feel the need to b!tch and moan about 2-3 inches is beyond me.

I agree that the rifle is a battle rifle and that anything better than 4 moa is just a bonus but when people with them say they can shoot 1-2 moa then some guy who has saved up all year to buy one gets his out to the range and can't do better than 3-4 moa he's probably going to be disappointed. Most people don't seem to understand that accuracy is very dependant on the ammo used and that every barrel is different.
Many also don't understand that just because a rifle costs over $2000 that doesn't mean it's going to be a rifle capable of shooting 1 moa. The price of the rifle has no bearing on it's accuracy potential.
I honestly think that a lot of the guys who say they would buy one but not unless it could shoot better are just making up an excuse to justify not buying a rifle they either can't afford or that their wife has forbid due to the price.

Look at all the posts about the XCR-L, so many complaining about it not being able to shoot 1-2 moa consistently and unwilling to accept that the rifle was never designed to be a DMR, it's a battle rifle and it does what it was designed to do.

We all wish these non restricted rifles would shoot as well as an AR but until people understand that the design of these makes it an unfair fight people are always going to have unrealistic expectations.
