I havn't checked this year but in last years book it said, and i'm paraphrasing, that "you could use any centerfire rifle in any caliber you wanted as long as you were following the federal firearms laws." So the Tavor/Beowulf combo would be gtg for coyotes. The flip side to it is if you want to go after moose with a .22 Hornet, you're also gtg...
(Before someone chimes in i'll state that yes, i'm well aware there are some county's in south western ontario that have the "No hunting with anything over .275 caliber." rule)
Word. I'm trying to find factory ammo right now loaded with partitions or something like that to drastically decrease the chance of bullet failure. Got any leads? This isn't specifically directed at you cr5. I'll take leads from anyone.![]()
I've never seen a factory loaded 223 with a medium to large game bullet but if you handload there are a few options I've heard of. We don't see them in stores in Alberta though since we aren't allowed to hunt with 223 other than coyotes, wolves and gophers. .24 cal and bigger for us
That's why I built my 300BLK conversion for my NR ACR, I'll be getting a deer or two with it this fall
I have some 125 grain Hornady SST's and 125 grain Nosler Accubonds for the task
