Norinco type 81 nr-81 being made again

I need one in this configuration:

That will take care of the barrel length issue.

Realistically though, if it's only restricted status, Not even remotely interested.

Comes with a Non restricted barrel length however? I'll buy two.

Yup. This is on my "because reasons" list for sure. Just in that form. LMG all the way.

That being said, if an importer brings in the rifle versions, I assume it would be in their plans to have norinco make the CDN version with a 3/4 inch longer barrel. Would just make sense. And would still look pretty much like the original.

if it's cheaper than an m305..... and non restricted, I'd go for that ak/siminov looking thing for sure
but if it's more than an m305..... not even interested

ya, so 599.00 with 2 mags and a cleaning kit for the glorified ak/sks is about the cap.
even those t97 rifles are way overpriced...... jeebus, they are norincos.... just add 500 more "because" it's a bullpup? LOL not my wallet.

Same.
The price will be the single biggest factor for me on the 81.
I have no doubt it will be functional, reliable, fun and relatively accurate for 7.62x39 battle rifle.

But there's no way I'm dropping more than $700 on one and even then.....

I really hate the Canadian firearms market, prices are beyond ridiculous for almost everything :(

You guys checked the prices for U.S. market AKs lately?

Even the bottom of the barrel junk is pushing $600, if the Type 81 were available down there they'd cost at least $800 I'm sure, so you can hardly expect them to be cheaper in Canada.

Anyways I'd be interested in one if it were nonrestricted of course.

Some of these "industry insiders" are hilarious. It's nice a couple of you guys actually know your stuff though.

Fenceline, TI already has one in for FRT approval? Nice.

The idea north sylva is importing them just because they import other norinco products is presumptuous. So far their MO has been to let someone else take first crack at it then go after it after. Type 97 was a canadaammo thing first , TI started the qbu 88 and now north sylva lists it. Same idea with CSA VZ58's after wolverine and marstar started bringing in VZ's. Not a negative thing but until there is an FRT there this is all just out imaginations.
