Caught a Tavor Fever... "Official Tavor Picture Thread"

At what range are you guys zeroing your Tavor's? Im assuming for the Elcan Spectre it would be at 100? Im not sure at what range I should zero the aimpoint t1 at currently.

Yup with a T1 I'd vote for a 50yd zero too. Travis Haley has a great pitch on why.

But if you've got some variant of a BDC reticle the manufacturer will often have a recommended zeroing. that's the case with your ACOGs Elcans and Razors

With the sight hieght of the tavor with most scopes, even if you sight in at 100yards the bullet is still actually traveling upwards to about 1/4" @125 yards then it starts to drop from there

With a 100 yard zero, the bullet will always be within 2 inches of your POA from 36 yards to 225 yards

With a 50 yard zero your going to be wicked high at 100

Smart.

Scott and Chairs, nice rifles but you may want to center the turrets between the rings. I forget which brand I was reading about but they mentioned not having the rings right up against the turret block as it could cause damage. If you use decent rings and correct torque you don't need to worry about your scope sliding in the mount.

What kind of mags are you guys using on your Tavor? Currently all my magazines seem to fit on open bolt, but the supplied magazine and my magpul gen 3 seem to not want to catch on a closed bolt? My Beowulfs seem to work perfect no matter what, but I prefer the magpul or other USGI ones so that I can use them in CQB or 3-gun in the future.

The supplied mags do fit a closed bolt. You just have to give it a good hit. I have the same problem with mine. i just make sure I give it a manly tap and it's GTG!
PS my problem is with the metal USGI mag.
