Just prior to my retirement
a number of years back, the 'kids' started entering me for a draw 'gift' of an Antelope hunt in AB. That was about 13 years ago and this year we all got our draws. We did a little scouting the first afternoon we arrived and a short while later, the first to connect was my Daughter.
Early the following day, I got my chance and took the shot.The only down side of the hunt was, while my rifle was sighted in for the range the animal was at and even though I had a good rest, I pulled the shot a few inches low. It was only because of the skill and determination of my guide and Son In Law, my Antelope was found and put permently to rest with a finishing shot.
And last but not least, to further our success, my Son In Law connected with a third Antelope later that afternoon.
I can't thank the 'Kids' enough, for a great hunt, a great retirement gift/opportunity and the pleasure of going on another hunt with them in AB. Probably I'll be back for Mule Deer again in future but doubtful that I'll ever get another crack at Antelope. If it takes another 13 years to get a draw, I may be a little old to go after another 'Speed Goat'.
My Daughters was the first. I 'think', body wise anyway, my Son In Laws was the biggest and mine is the 'cute' one in the middle. Again, a great experience and hard to beat three animals down in less than 24 hrs.
