How do YOU finish off a crippled goose?

I have 'cracked the whip' on more than one occasion. Works well but takes some wrist strength. The pocketknife in the roof of the mouth kills them quickly and helps the plucking according to a goose farmer I hunted with. The whirling dervish works and looks cool on tv.
Shooting for the 'bang flop' is for more than deer though. :)

Where I work they have no fear of people or vehicles. Most people brake for them...so in that case the car does a primo job. When hunting...point blank range...but you have to say something witty first. "hasta last vista". Or "you've just been erased"

I want to buy my shells where you do.

Best 25 cents you can spend, is another round that dispatches instantly, from a bit of distance, and is .: by far the least stressful to the animal. Sure, some of these ways work "most of the time" but they're not 100% effective. Don't waste your time and the goose's last moments ("last moments" does that sound cheesy or what, eh? Yeesh) experimenting. Click, Bang! #####ezzz :)

I shoot it with my 10ga, first shot is always the last, bad shot on a bird might break a wing then they try to swim away and just shoot it again. Other then that grab it and cut its throat and let it bleed out.

Depends on the situation at the time. Swimming away or running away wounded I shoot it again doing my best to achieve a head shot. However if we have a dog and it is in pursuit already regardless of how "clear" it may be of the shot I let the dog do the job of bringing it back then wring it's neck. If you want one for a mount well the last thing you want to do with it is wring it's neck and tear feathers out, skin open, get blood all over it or possibly have the head and neck sever completely off. In that case I put the bird down flat on the ground belly down, fingers over the nostrils and press dwon hard on it's back with one knee and suffocate it. Done that a few times with birds I wanted to have mounted.

Seems like the consensus best way to wring the neck is the horizontal spin like a lasso

I need to try the suffocation method with the knee on the back

Doesn't seem like there is much information on this topic out there, what works for you?

Shoot it again....
Retrieve and if still alive wring the dam neck , sounds easy as one, two, three but , till one gets the hang of wringing a gooses neck it is a pia.
When shooting at a bird on the water it is best to aim right at the body as they have been known to duck their head when being shot at , then there is also the chance the shot may skip over the bird if aiming to low too.

Same as with any animal/fish - chopping head off, enough damage to brain (knife into brain) or cutting half-head off. Either brain or central spine cord. Sometimes hitting head on a hard object hard enough can put them 'out' long enough to die before they come back to senses.
E.g. sterlet or sturgeon can 'live' for quite some time (30mins or so) without head; where it's permitted to retain and consume.. it depends on nervous system of each species.

Another shot if it's running or swimming away. Point a bit high and dust the top of its head and neck with the bottom of your pattern.

Oh man I read the title as moose, not goose, and was wondering wtf everyone was talking about snapping its neck! As for goose I agree, grab and spin if you can catch em.
