Yep ... plus a couple of other features. I like adding value to a product as long as it makes sense.
Very excited to see these bad boys, I honestly think THIS IS the best option of mounting an optic on the vz platform.

Just thinking out loud here... What if you also offered a higher front sight and incorporated a ghost ring rear sight into the rail or one of these as a rear sight that could be mounted on the rail...
If the rear sight height will end up higher due to the design change a new front sight would be awesome too.
Could the rail your offering be made the same height as the BC tactical railed upper? If so folding sights could even be added.
A really long sight radius by adding an aperture or ghost ring rear sight would make the platform better still.
No matter what happens with the iron sights this will be a major win for sure.

BC Tactical handguard sits about a half inch lower. There is no way to make the optic rail sit that low as the receiver cover is in the way ... however, I think there must be half inch riser mounts out there, perhaps that will work for you?
One set of BUIS later and I think you will have what you want.

I see no reason why it wouldn't fit both calibres as long as the outside dimensions of the rifles are the same.

Well all I can say is that I did not expect such a positive response about my inquiry, especially not from the manufacturer. I'm definately in for a rail due to my disliking of the sks rifle in general ( that's another discussion for another time so no hijacking the thread) I would be able to use a real scope with it as a deer gun.

This would be a great idea. Obviously pictures are worth a thousand words, but patience is a virtue. I look forward to seeing how they turn out.
Assuming the rail is aluminum, would there be a steel shell deflector to minimize the wear? I'm not familiar with previous Kwikrails, but I know my Wartak and scope rings have taken a lot of abuse on my SKS.. this would definitely be a game changer.
As well, I have found the spec to be noticeably off between early CZ/VZ to my '14 VZ58, do you have the capabilities to test different variations? Or would you consider loaning test units out once your designs are protected?

Ok I would be interested but I would recommend that if you're going to release a Vz rail, pay special attention to shell deflection in the design. My kwik rail would cause stove pipes. It probably has more to do with the direction my gun throws the casings but as soon as I took it off the problem disappeared. I have wondered if my gun would have agreed with it better if the rail was a little more elevated.

The changes in spec from model to another are a huge issue.
I think in the end some fitting may be required .... as your comment indicates many owners are aware of the variation in measurements in models of this rifle.
We will try to support buyers as time goes on as we hear back from them, but with so many rifles out there feedback from buyers will be a necessary albeit imperfect way to sort out all the possible variations.
I haven't noticed any difference in parts from cz-fsn-czh-csa before except for bolt releases and mag release, some bolts and strikers but that's about it for me
I understand that csa has a slightly thicker receiver and the only thing that didn't work on my csa's were the quick detach dustcover rail from sa58 website.

I remember you mentioning this on my VZ58 post when trying to fit on wooden furniture. While it may be your personal experience, it is clearly not the case with all CZ/VZ.
Luckily I had a second handguard, as trying to weasel this wooden lower into my '14 VZ8 caused a crack in the furniture.
