Best long range 500 - 600 yard coyote - deer cartridge ???

well, I sure hope that the 240 WBY will have legs enough for me to reach out there. I just bought one at the last gun show and my son's are setting up to reload for it. Got 40 live rounds and shopping around for brass. Geeezz, it's not cheap, I see! lol!

Holy smokes, two-dogs does this mean your going to shoot something beyond 200 yards!!!:dancingbanana:

As you have the 6.5x284 fixings, change the bbl to a 1 in 8 twist and chamber a longer neck on it so you can shoot the 140 or 142 gr and you have yourself a great and accurate long distance round.

I would go with the 25-06 or the AI version, not so much for more speed but to get longer life out of brass. The 110 accubond or 115 hunting VLD look good to me and should be plenty for both the distance/animals your looking at shooting. There is lots of brass around.

got any idea as to how many times (approx.) one can fire 240 WBY brass?

CC........I have the reamers and barrels and will be making more barrels this winter, if you're interested PM me. Dies with the appropriate bushing can be ordered from Sinclair International and arrive in about 2-3 weeks and bullets can be purchased from Marshal at Matrix Ballistics..........so far he has made 90, 100 and 105 gn bullets in hunting bonded bullets and a few ULD match bullets in 90 gn for me. The initial groups look good and the effect on a Whitetail buck was absolutely devastating !!!!

I have a 270 Wby load 140gr TSX @ 3250fps in my old made in 1958 23.75" barreled Husqvarna no need for a 270 cal threads about replacing the barrel on a 6mm-284.

I'm still reading the 234 thread got 125 pages to read still...

Starting to think about staying with the 6mm-284 with a faster twist rate or going with a 234-284 with 90 - 100gr bullets.

edit to add:

Also thinking 25-06
