Got myself an Springfield M1A!

I decided to install the Springfield Stock, hand guard and flash hider onto the Norinco - she cleans up nice eh? It is like Barbie for men.

The Springfield is on the bench waiting for the new parts to arrive. Once I finish loading up the rest of the 338 Lapua Magnum I will set up the press to reload for 308.

Okay your M14 or M1A lovers! You are all missing one thing.... Ammo, Match Ammo; LOTS of it!

Now how about some range reports ???

Cheers and keep on helping out the noobies!

Barney

these -20 to -30 weeks have kinda put a halt to my range time.
And I've got 3 new rifles I've been freaking out to go shoot since earlier in December.

Glock4ever…your Norc looks great in the SA wood! Did it drop in without issue? While the Norc plastic stock is solid the finish is not pretty….

Wonder if i drop a NM in a 305 stock and it shoot around MOA with factory ammo, kind of playing a trick on my range fellows, i ought to try this in the spring... Lol. JP.

Congrats, can be a real good shooter with the right loads. Now the search begins for a load......Now have to go and look at mine to be sure its still there....

One of the things I've always enjoyed about shooting a M1A/305 is that if it doesn't perform well with a 168 grain SMK over 41.5 to 42.5 grains of IMR 4895, then you have a gun problem. While YMMV, I've found this to be an outstanding load in every single one of these rifles that I've ever fired.

I'll agree…the wood stock looks prettier but the synthetic means business. A modern black web sling should give the rifle a modern "tactical look".

Yeah it dropped straight in. I didn't have to modify anything. I think it looks pretty sweet.

You actually need to trim a little bit of the stock, at the back of the receiver on the right side (where the charging handle track is)
In your last pic, you can see where it's not fitting precisely
