Can't argue that... but my daughter would take exception with your terminology.
I think using that terminology should result in an immediate one month ban and subsequent exponential increase per usage.
Speaking from experience?
I don't really see an issue hunting pronghorn with a .338WM
In my mind there is only one best choice, which I do not presently own, .300 Win Mag. It has the trajectory, bullet weight options, light enough rifles, easily available ammunition, power for big Brown bear and Ungulates, affordable rifles... everything really.
Nothing to add...I think using that terminology should result in an immediate one month ban and subsequent exponential increase per usage.
And you do have an issue hunting a big bear with a 30-06? Read my signature line.
I'd happily do it with a 280 Remington as well. When you are picking an ideal cartridge I sure as heck wouldn't pick the one ideal for 10% of the game hunted either.
If you get tired of your current career, you might consider politics...
Best North American hunting round?? Where's the 303 British and the 30-30 those two calibers have kill more 4 legged animals than all of those cartridges put together

And I would ask what disadvantage does the .300 Win Mag pose to a hunter who isn't troubled by recoil face on any game he would tackle with an -06?Further, what risk does he take in using the .300 on pronghorn, instead of the -06? It's all well and good to call the .30-06 sufficient, I agree it is. But what I want to know is why choose it over the .300, which has unarguable advantages.
Doug, heck of a neat way to bag your white bear.
