I just got it couple of days ago. I already have one AR in that caliber, but for that price I can't go wrong. 839.95 before taxes with 2 mags! Before that one I only have tried the first gen of NEA AR's and they didn't impress me at that time. This is a 2 Gen and I fell in love with it right away. Very nice design, slick finish and very solid build. Well, it looked good and I was anxious to try how it performs. Transfer was approved in 1 day :) and I took it to the range. They only things that I've changes is to replace stock with Magpul one and pistol grip with some rubberized one ( forgot the make), slapped troy sight at the front and ARMS at the rear. Stripped, cleaned and oiled. about 600 rounds of corrosive Romanian surplus. Rifle performed flawlessly. Very accurate with irons and even so with Elcan 1-4 sight. I've had only 2 FTF close to 500 rounds, but that was expected. Romanian ammo tend to have some really deep seated primers. Very mild recoil. Trigger is great as well! I am planning to update this thread after each range trip with this rifle to give you an update in bolt readability and other things, but so far after 600 rounds I am very pleased. Probably, my favourite AR so far! Enjoy pictures and video. BTW, it's was about - 8 C at that day and no cycling issues :)

Looks great. Glad to hear it performed well. Great price you got too!
This is on my list as the 'next rifle'.

Is it possible to show a pic of the x39 bolt face?
I'm curious to see how thick the webs are on NEA's proprietary bolt, since that has traditionally been the problem area.
Example here in #27.

If you have a 5.56mm bolt to put beside it even better!:)

How do you deal with cleaning the gas tube?
Jerry
should get some made up Teflon coated!
I don't clean gas tube on my both 7.62x39 ARs. I have another one for over a year and no issues. Worse case scenario it's a 10 dollar part to replace.
I'm guessing he shoots non corrosive, its not really that much more if you find it in the right places, or at the right time...

A bit of boiling water down the gas tube, compressed air, G96. Only takes a minute and your paying 1/3 the cost of commercial .223.

NEA is donating a 7.62X39 upper to our February 2-gun match so one lucky shooter will be going home with one next month! Glad to see it appears to be a solid piece of kit!

Nice write up & videos, especially the slo-mo in #2.

Looking forward to your updates or hopefully running into you and seeing this up-close and personal as this my home range.
