NEA Issues *WARNING*

I'm a guy who has owned two, and regardless of how many rounds have been fired, the rifle has preformed "flawlessly" out of the box. The fact that I am selling it has nothing to do with its performance. I simply want to get something I am able to take to my hunting property and play with. I got bored real quick shooting "X's" at an indoor 25 yard range.

I would say that the issue is that your stories don't agree with one another. The rifle has shot 200 rounds in one thread and 250 in one day in another. You remind me of a former employee of NEA that used to frequent this site.

Sounds like bolt and barrel are out of spec with ea h other causing a head space issue.
Mixed with hot cheap ammo.
Nea should replace whole the rifle so your barrel and bolt are in spec with each other
Solving the head space issue.
Stay away from Norinco ammo.

Simply a misprint in my adthat has been fixed. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. As an accountant I'm usually more careful. No former employee either, just hate to see people making random statements not based on facts. I have owned two and had good luck with both, that's a fact!

Is NEA one of your clients?

250 flawless rounds through a rifle is like 50kms in a new car, you've haven't even broken it in and can hardly give it a fare review.

NEA has been garbage from day one. I was excited about the guns until they were released. Why anyone would buy one of these is beyond me....

now it wasn't always crapping out on me, when it did work it was a fun little rifle and i can say i mainly bought it for ####s and giggles
this is with the aftermarket trigger and a Beowulf mag

well nobody else has said it... but i've experienced it first hand on a C7

Bad gas rings/poor bolt to carrier fit (like the OP's) leak... it causes minor/intermittent short stroking, which would be consistent with the ops issue of a burst fire then jam... with both the original and after market trigger.

I had this issue on a C7 (worn out carrier, so after the rings broke in it leaked every time and the issue surfaced again. they threw out the bolt after the third set of rings, it was so old it had a "C" stamp on the bolt for all you rifle history fanatics)

AKA the replacement bolt is a POS too.....

You are correct. Their new bolt had 4 rings. At first the gaps were normal, after second time testing it I noticed 2 rings squashed and bent. After last time with all the jams took it apart and noticed the cracked pieces missing and the gaps were 3 to 4 mm thus leaking. I also notified NEA president about the rings and he joked about it and offered more rings

I've had a good experience with NEA customer service recently, where a barrel from an upper I bought on the EE was replaced free of charge (except for postage of the old barrel back to them). As much as I wish there wasn't a problem in the first place, very few manufacturers would offer warranty services like this on second-hand merchandise that could have been screwed up by the previous owner. I would compare their warranty service and coverage to Vortex's, but faster since the parts don't have to go to the states.

At their price point, I can't complain. I have other rifles to shoot in the meantime.

If the bolt to carrier fit is the issue how are gas rings going to fix it?
