NEA Issues *WARNING*

Holy smokes. That is either horrendous luck, over-pressured/undersized ammo or atrocious quality control, or some combination thereof.
I am glad you are OK from that muzzle break detonation.

I'm 0/3 on NEA parts....
Bolt failed after 3 rounds.....
Upper was way out of spec, dust cover was ground down to fit and still had gaps around it.
Barrel was crowned way off center.

They have yet to get QC up to par, pump out lots of substandard product, but QC is lacking especially when they claim to be "aerospace engineers".... Maybe they were janitors for an aerospace engineering company, that would make more sense....

2/25/2015 So after emailing back and forth with NEA and the dealer, NEA is just going to send me a new muzzle device. I will keep everyone up to date once I get the rifle back out on the range

That's it? What are they attributing the burst firing to and why aren't they doing something about that? And what about the gas rings?

They are blaming my $400 trigger. So I swapped the trigger with the factory trigger. I havnt tested it yet

So they're pinning blame on a trigger group that probably has tighter specs over their own LPK provided one as a quick out basically..

In the very least, new gas rings and/or disconnector should've been offered to rule out those given they are "factory" issued. They're on the cheaper end of the parts scale & would've cost an envelope and postage.

At some point you need to consider it a liability to continue shooting something with such failures time and time again. You are lucky to have not got hurt or hurt anyone else so far......If it were me I would have sold it for scrap metal if NEA did not want to take it back.

Looking for answers for something else. I found out that Norc CQ-A only has a service life of 6000rds. What the manual states.

https://www.marstar.ca/html/reflibrary/Manuals/cqa.html

But cant say I heard of a norc bolt "breaking" under 1000rds

I've been ignoring this thread because I don't have an NEA but it keeps popping up so I decided to take a peak inside. The Norc only has a service life of 6,000 rounds? $hit. I just sold a buddy my CQ-A with about 5,000 rounds through it. He's since put maybe 2,000 through it and though neither of us have had issues with it, I better give him a heads up to start looking for wear and maybe plan to replace parts soon.

I don't have an NEA myself, but another of my pals does and he's not particularly happy with it. He started those stripped lowers that were on sale last year for dirt cheap, started throwing parts into it, ordered an upper and it came with a .300blk barrel and 5.56/.223 bolt. They sent a replacement barrel so, in went the new barrel and the bolt would not go forward. He had to remove the o-ring from the extractor. Now his current issue is the extractor is so tight, it will not allow a round to seat. I haven't heard any updates on whether he got that sorted out, but holy crap, that's some scary $hit.

NEA is blaming Geissele?. That is some arrogance right there. So the broken bolt broken gas rings and cartooned muzzle device were caused by the finest trigger manufacturer in The USA?.

I wouldn't concern much about it. Not like its going blow. Might be the barrel life.

I really hope that people finally open up their eyes, and stop supporting these clown shows. OP I'd cut your losses, and get rid of the gun all together. Pull the parts you swapped, and be done with them for good. It Is just Insulting.

Read Deagle's comment and what it was referring to...he was stating that NEA is blaming the burst firing on the trigger or at least they are trying to isolate that issue by having him put the stock trigger back in. This thread is juicy enough without you making wild leaps.

Sarcasm. the point is that all of those failures were caused by you guessed it NEA parts.

If it where me and they don't want to give me my money back , I would grind the serial # and throw it right threw there front window
