As soon as I took it out of the box I could here something rattling in the gun. Honestly, I thought there was an empty casing rattling around at first. Frankly, I'm not going to shoot it without the retaining pin to test the theory.

So I wouldn't say thats the issue of why its burst firing.
I would check the buffer tube and see if you can see where the firing pin may fell out ( came out a bit, angle) riding in/on the buffer tube channel.
Almost like the firing pin may be sticking in the channel, Or too long.
The recoil and the temporary stop would allow the firing pin to keep moving ( momentum )
It should have fell out and or jammed up the bolt/carrier.

It's amazing how we can learn not to do something by having a scary Sgt yell and scream at us
yes it is. to this day I keep my finger off the trigger for fear that my old Master corporal will somehow know and come to kick my ass.

Colt Canada is another company you never hear these sorts of horror stories, certainly never heard of these sort of things being a common occurrence with the issue rifles anyway.

I sent an email to Ryan when I sent the rifle back to him that I took the retaining pin out because it was from my other rifle. I lost the original one when my bolt broke at the range. Somehow they didnt get my email. Ive been playing with ARs for around 5 years now ànd ive learned alot about them. I was going thru my videos and I found one from when I first took out the rifle to shoot. Stock trigger and everything I remembered that I had the burst fire that day. I will post the video
This video is taken when the rifle was new. Ran couple of hundred rounds through it. No jams but some burst firing. The burst fire happenes on the last mag I ran. Now for everyone who was blaming Geissele trigger this proves wrong. The rifle is stock no modifications to any part except the crapy stock/grip.
Some people did or some had their doubts about me installing the trigger wrong.
When I installed the trigger it was pretty tight. Now im not an AR specialist but I feel like the burst firing had something to do with the timing of the bolt move.
It was full contact with sear nothing unusual when dry firing. It only happened live fire and the last session just double fed or failed to extract but tried to load a live one in. It felt like a machine that wasn't timed properly
Still no rifle03/18/2015 Hollllyy Smokesss. what a differenceeeeee. I am speechless. the quality on their gen 2 is wayyyyyyy better. no wonder there are 2 groups here, one that hates them (gen 1) one that loves them (gen2). I will take quality photos with my camera for everyone to see the difference. first noticeable difference is the finish. its not charcoal, its black. the upper has a bit of a gap but no wobbling and the rear take down pin comes out smoothly. The machining is perfect, no etches or weird lines. the action is not as smooth as my colt 6920 first when i got it but i believe it needs break in and should be fine. I gotta say NEA did improve their rifles. NOW the Million dollar question? WILL IT WORK, for that i will keep track of every range/ammo brand,count and will update as we go.
