ACR Media and Info Thread

Maybe email bushmaster and see if they have a part number for the H/L regulator and see if Gravel can order it in.

Either that or fill the vent on the S side with JB weld or something and start small and slowly open the port till it cycles the green tips.

Next time I have mine out with the new to me Questar barrel I'll try a bunch of different ammo and see if it has problems with any of it.
Do you have a way to remove your gas block and accurately measure the gas port? Or ask Dlask what size they drill it to?

Yah there is no way I can remove that gas block and accurately measure it, way too small, i would need obe of those electronic caliper thingies.
I can email dlask.
what size should it be drilled to?
Maybe i should just buy a new barrel from herron, those seem to work flawlessly.

cr5 and I will be hooking up soon, I have a Herron and he has the questar so we can try out both.

Or maybe just work this out for virtually no cost. Once Dlask let's you know what size they drill it to we'll compare with the other barrel makers and maybe Dlask will replace your barrel if they drilled it too large. They usually error on the large side to make sure the barrel is reliable with all types of ammo they have available so we don't complain that they make an unreliable product.
They may have just drilled it to the same size they drill AR ports to and the ACR gas system is supposed to be quite efficient so it could just be getting a little too much gas for some of the hotter stuff. They probably don't do rapid mag dumps during testing.
Test fire it with your new extractor before you worry too much though.

Yah im heading right up to the range on friday after a job interview.
Gonna try it with the new RRA extrator and bcm spring, maybe my issue is solved already.

So James (sorry buddy I forgot your CGN name) and Deagle gelped me out today at the range, it seems for some reason my regulator is reversed, the hole is actually drilled on the wrong side, so all this time that I have been shooting it on U it was actually in silencer mode. So I turned it around to S and presto runs like a top. Turn it around to U again and jams.
Just my luck, I tell you guys, Im just not lucky with firearms purchaes in March. Well at least They helped me to figure it out and I can now manage.

Is anyone getting legit 1.5 moa with the questar barrels?

I think the one with the ? was either a hole from my first shot of the day or my last sighter before making the group. The 5 shots were consecutive though and I'll be doing some proper groups when I go to the range next.
This was shot off a picknick table at my buddy's farm.
I didn't measure this one but we all know how big tacks are and that was just with American Eagle 55gr black box. I'm looking forward to trying some good stuff in it.

Thanks. I look forward to seeing some more targets what is the wait time on getting the barrel installed?

I do my own, I also have a custom built 300BLK barrel I had built and I installed the gas system on that one. If you look back in this thread there are pictures of it including pics of the sub moa groups it can shoot with my handloads.

I gotta admit guys, now that I have it going, Im in love with this rifle, even more than my tavor.

Yup, I've shot a few Tavors and they've never done anything for me to make me need to have one. My ACR is so smooth, comfortable and accurate then add the great position of the controls and until something new comes out this is definitely a keeper for me. I think it's the best option out there for us even though there is a little bit of work needed to make it non restricted.

Just got mine back from Ian at Herron arms. .223 wylde 1:8 twist Bartlein barrel. Did an awesome job and had it back to me in 3 weeks.
I have found that my LAR mags are a little tight to get in, any one else with this issue ?

Went to the club yesterday with the intention of shooting for groups. It was too cold for what I was wearing so ended up giving up after getting the scope zeroed pretty much. Winter doesn't want to give up just yet. :)

Next time gadget, next time.
