It sounds like you have everything in the right perspective. I respect the OP's decision. What is ironic however is how other members here who frequently rant and rave about "freedom" feel compelled to insult someone who exercises his freedom in a manner in which they do not approve.
It is actually possible to be a gunnut without owning a restricted.
The reason I did it is because I did not like what i saw when I looked at my own heart and how guns and materialism has gripped me. I want to be a good steward of the little money I am blessed with and to blow it on restricteds I can rarely use shows that my priorities are mixed up.
"All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything." 1Corinthians 6:12.
That was my motive. The other issues surrounding restricteds and the inconvenience and costs associated with them only served to expose how much of a grip they had on me because of what I was willing to endure to have them gather dust in my safe.

Make it $600 for some ranges in Calgary.
Everything is relative, you can pay 400.00 for a great bottle of wine, and it last one hour... JP.

What I see is people who do not respect his freedom to make the choice whether to own restricted firearms or not.

Same in Ottawa... it is expensive.
There is a happy middle ground where you have 1-2 handguns, cancel your membership... and just kinda have them just in case you want to use them again.

Wow what a sad story. Why not just use the money you got from selling the guns and get a ### change? It's not like you willl need them anymore!
I keep buying more; just got another four 12.6's last week. Must have about a dozen or so now. They are inexpensive because nobody wants them.
