This .22LR shortage is starting to piss me off.

My in-store pickup a few days ago was missing a box of CCI. Had ordered 4, got 3. Went back and got my other one, no problems. But still.... ....... one, two, three, ...uhmmm.

cabelas order to store..meh, 2 weeks. got all I ordered, but seemed long for a .22 top up. However, nice to see fed 525's and stingers stacked and secured for years to come.

Welp....hell just froze over. Cabela's has lowered the price on the CCI Choot'em 300 round packs from $27.99 to $25.99! Can still come down a bunch, but at least it's in the right direction.

the guy in provost has some cci mags for 50 for 500. Not sure if its a decent price because I have never bought any before.

These days they sell for $8.50 to $10.50 per 100 rounds, so I guess he'd be considered high average. Of course some in the EE are asking $20 per 100.

I got the mini mag 1600 round ammo can at Bass Pro last week for $135 tax included.

I just bought 2 bricks of Rem Thunderbolt for $44 each at CT...the only bricks I seen in town for the last 2 months...
I seen mixed reviews on these... hopefully its not that crappy...

I tried a few boxes of Winchester Wildcat, my Marlin 795 didn't like them...

Recall that they only moved the Cabela's warehouse to Calgary from Winnipeg recently (a few months). That means they are not only dealing with a lot of new staff but also the "Alberta Advantage" meaning that anyone who is able to will work where the pay is good; oil & gas or construction for example. Everyone left over is who they have to hire from.

This is admittedly a generalization as many people choose to work in the service industry because they don't want those long rotations in the field or don't have a desire to work outdoors. I speak from experience as we had this issue when I worked in a retail setting with a warehousing component. The people on the job market were not always the "cream of the crop".

I'm guessing Cabela's will learn this the hard way unless they are paying their warehouse staff O&G salaries...

On Friday May1 SAIL store in Cambridge had Winchester 333 packs for $25, limit two per customer. Not sure if there's any left..

I stopped stocking up on(hoarding) them when they went above $9.99. Makes me want to think that there is some gouging going on, 'cause it wasn't that long ago.

Yeah I feel I'm stocked up now too, so that should ease up the pressure on supply quite a bit. :)

I figure I got enough to last me 'till the day I die, not matter how long I live.
If I don't keep giving it away to friends and relatives who didn't plan ahead!
