I'd rather have the ball turret, far easier to get out of..and a smaller harder target...with 50's instead of 303.......and the 'muricans had heater suits.

there was a song or poem that compared the lanc and the b-17, i dont remember how it goes, but its along the lines of americans with guns and armour carry little bombs, the lanc comes later with a bomb bay miles long

Awesome British Free Corps ( Britisches Freikorps) photo. Thanks for sharing.
Eddie Chapman had quite the life. Douchebag? Hero? Both? Life can be complex.

Speaking of Englishmen in German employ...

Was it an episode of the Twilight Zone that some story about the belly turret gunner stuck in and the landing flaps not deploying?
Give me tail gunner; these guys survive non parachute assisted jumps over the Black Forest

Amazing Stories - The Mission.

An Axis aircraft the Allies didn't want to think about? Possibly more sophisticated than a P61 but not designed by committee!

Henschel 219:

That is a HEINKEL 219, not Henschel. Made mostly of wood, good flying characteristics but very few produced.

^ One thing about Americans, they do not do things in half measures. The restoration area at NASM is just as interesting (maybe more) as the display area.
