PPC 3 Gun Matches

It is actually quite different now from the NRA version, I would not go by that.
There had to be many changes made in order to have it sanctioned by CSSA

From what I understand if the club is under CSSA then the approved disciplines need to be sanctioned, perhaps its for insurance reasons, I am not really sure.
But that was one of the main reasons why the rules were changed from the original NRA rule book, and the name changed from TPC.

So basically the CSSA is not revoking range insurance.
That just means they believe you guys can shoot under this rule set without hurting yourselves, just like every other shooting related activity out there they offer range insurance for.

Saying that this is "sanctioned by CSSA" is a totally different meaning.
At least in my mind it is.

Unfortunately I can't swing by on the 11th, but if you can share future match dates, I'd love to come look or even participate.

Again, as others have requested, WHERE ARE THE RULES? I would like to if my equipment is compatible with your rule set.

Do you have sign up instructions somewhere?

As far as I know the rules are not published anywhere yet.

Basically, for handgun, anything bigger then 9mm, AR can be .223 or .308, shotgun can be pump or semi

Vests can be worn but only to carry magazines.

No slings are allowed

If you let me know what you have, I can check my paper copy of the rule book

Sorry I asked.... Good to know that shotgun barrel length is up to 26". Now I don't have to buy a new gun. Tube extension and a sight,I'M READY!!

Why?
I suppose someone could publish a rulebook snd say "okay everyone these are the rules governing multigun all across Canada"

So what..?

Unless I'm 100% in agreement I'm just gonna use my own rules.

As far as travelling to shoot other matches and having to adjust oneself re the rules....
If you can read it shouldn't be a problem.

If the rules are dumb then no clubs will bother using them and it won't become a national organization, simple as that. I'm a somewhat new 3gun competitor but from what I've seen there isn't and shouldn't be a ton of rules in 3gun, thats what makes it so interesting, the stage designs can vary a lot. I'm more talking about divisions and safety rules.

I don't think we'll ever see 3gun in Canada reach the scale it has in the US. From what I gleen reading posts about it on CGN there are about a dozen versions of what people consider as "3gun"... Lol.
Often within one thread it seems guys are talking about more than one style of match...
I've shot many matches in the US and each one often differs a little... From each other AND sometimes even from the year before.

A simple reading of the latest rules prior to the match is usually enough to get up to speed... It's no big deal.

667,

What is correct "3 gun"? And what makes the other versions incorrect?

Not trying to stir the pot, I ask because you've mentioned this before so the definition seems to be important to you.

I don't think I've ever expoused as to what "correct" 3 gun is...
There are several flavors, each with its own merit, or depending on one's perspective... faults.
What I've seen in past threads is where the term "3gun" is tossed around, but after a page or two it looked like we're all talking about different games... And yes... sometimes it does digress into a "my 3gun game is better than your 3gun game.
But hey... as long as we can agree that "IPSC 3gun" isn't correct... I'm good... ;-)

LOL.

No, you haven't said there's a correct version, just remarked on the variation. I always got the impression you had something in mind for what best suits the name "3 gun", though.

I hadn't even seen a 3 gun match in person when I organized the first one here 8 or 9 years ago. Any weirdness in our game is purely a local phenomenon and most likely my fault. ;)

You did not read my post , once again it is what the barrel indicates . For example if it says 12 Ga 3.5 inch chamber you can run 7 plus 2 3/4 12 guage as per the bulletin on CFC website. We do not limit to 5 rds semi again if you can legally load more GO FOR IT.
There is a match at Barrie again on the July 11 date . Come up and see for yourself.

Not exactly, according to the rcmp identification team the versamax tactical and field shotguns are the same, they can run either their 3 inch or 3.5 inch barrels. Since the receiver is 3.5 inch on both, then they may run 7 plus 1 of 2 and 3/4. The barrel is not the firearm, the receiver is, furthermore the tactical barrel labeled 3 inch is actually a 3.5 inch chambered barrel but due to reliability issues with some 3.5 inch loads and the extended magazine tube, it was labeled 3 inch.
