I just bought a 2nd hand new gun * MKIII 2245 * Guy bought it new, was still NIB and I bought it from him. Everything was like how it arrived ** so he said well ad is gone it wasnt new another story **I get it home put the rail on and a TRS 25 and was wondering if my dot was crooked. Take the dot off run a sight line and every screw for the mount is left of the sight line. GREAT

Oh boy this is going to be a fun warranty work for this. I never should have sold my MKII 2245.

** update from snapshot ** Clear defect so they will fix it. Ruger Warranty is great for defects. Want to hear from Ruger. I saw less then par repair done fixing dovetail that was miss cut. I cannot think re welding and re drilling and re finish will leave a clean un noticeable finish. I like to hear from Ruger to see about a replacement. Unlike autobody on a car, theres no fibreglass and paint to hide defects..

*called today and a new one being sent up from the states *

I can say forget about the rail and go aftermarket and just not worry. But then I know it shouldn't be like that but HELL I hate dealing with warranty. Being no fault of the sellers, it was something he wouldnt known. God why I hate new guns QC isnt what it used to be.

I too had QC problem with my 22/45. Apparently it's an accepted practice for Ruger to belt sand the bottom of the trigger guard to remove the sprue .

Good luck and keep us updated.

I had MK II, MKII 2245, Plently of 10/22, Single Six. So I like Ruger but holy this is un acceptable. I mean its brand new. Only had the 1 shot from the factory test fire.

I contacted the seller to try and get maybe the invoice and the shop he bought it from and see to go thru warranty with them. But I contacted Snap Shots.

Are you sure it was drilled & tapped @ the factory ?
I have a Mk1 that I had Del Selin Gunsmith in Vernon drill & tap & wile it's better than your pic's they couldn't drill a straight hole either

Well considering its BNIB, and the factory rail was still in the package. I only noticed it till I put the rail on.

I asked the seller who he bought it from. Went into privacy acts so yea he never bought it new.

Another story. 2nd hand or whatever still lame QC.

Probably gave the seller positive rating too

Still got a good deal way below retail ( Target model 375 shipped with 3 mags ). I'm pretty passive and let things slide. I cannot find the ad anymore to catch him. I was shocked when he got into privacy act, that he cannot say. So then I knew it was used. So I took it apart and found out. One of those NEW to him, but NOT new. I don't believe in the trading system anyways. Always more then what can be put in the generic.

Then there is this.

The good news is that you don't need the receipt or have to be the original purchaser. Ruger doesn't even have a written warranty. Unless it breaks due to abuse or neglect, they'll fix it. Hard to imagine how off kilter holes can be said to be anything but a manufacturing defect.

People have to stop doing that here. If the seller misrepresents what they sold or straight out lies to you they deserve a negative review.

I've given two negatives reviews. One seller tried to give me a review back to be spiteful and after a dispute with some PM screenshots my negative review was removed and theirs remained. Stay strong CGN and don't tolerate fraud. People with perfect reviews will rip you off. Get their names, numbers, addresses, call them.

When I see fraudulent WTS ads on the EE I report them with evidence promptly if the seller doesn't cooperate after a private message. I don't want to be a #### but I won't let amateur collectors be ripped off because it happened to me a few times when I was new and it sucks.

Well, he's either a stupid rat weasel or a lying rat weasel LOL... unless you bought it from the federal government.

The Privacy Act applies to federal institutions, not individuals. Funny that he'd know it exists, yet apparently have no clue who it applies to, or what it's function is.

Good for you not letting it wind you up though. Life's too short.

Do me a favour and PM the name? I'd hate to deal with someone that thick or dishonest, depending.

It looks like there's rust marks by the scew holes in pic #1? Sometimes those show up in pics but not as readily to the eye... Is it stray loctite or an indication the rail has been mounted before? I don't want to wind you up, but is it possible the seller noticed the flaw and just wanted to unload it?

I just want the base fixed so I can run a optic, whole reason going with a MKIII. If Ruger wont fix there are other options and mounts out there.
I know too well about release of privacy act. Filled out sooo many release of privacy information in the last 5 months. I swore I joined the forces again.

Nah little bit of red lock tight that I forgot to wipe off. When I removed the rail to find that the mount was crooked. I took the rail out of the package it was still stapled shut from factory. Never had a mount on it till I put it on.

You can go back and edit feedback I believe up to 30 days from post date .

The half polish on the bolt is typical of Rugers and not an issue. The holes are a real problem. It's definitely a factory flaw as 22/45's come pre drilled for the factory rail. I'd imagine Ruger would take care of this, but you'd probably have to go through their Canadian distributor(s).

Go to http://www.ruger.com/service/international.html and select Canada, then contact the Canadian distributor and Email Ruger too while you're at it. I can't see how or why they wouldn't replace this.

I'm sure you can just search your Pm's until you find the ones relating to this deal. Then give the appropriate feedback. Even if you left a + feedback already, you can leave another - to warn others !
