now I suppose if we're only talking 20 or 30 units it might be one thing... but why am I not so sure.... and how do you know which are the 'dinged' units and which ones are the 'first quality ones'...

yeah, I think resale value just plummeted.

I would hunt for a used LMT mrp instead for DMR. The Colt barrel is good but it's still a Chrome lined barrel. Not great for a DM rifle. KAC even uses a Krieger in their 18" DMR 5.56 rifle. With the LMT pick up a SS Mike Rock 5R barrel for it later and it's a two minute swap. You need special tools to change the Colt Canada IUR barrel out.

Obviously I like Colt Canada but... It's not perfect for everything.

I don't know. I picked one up for $750 shipped and a buddy got one for $730. But a month ago I sent a pm to a guy trying to sell his and had lots of BTT, yet he wanted more for his than the $800 ones at Frontier. He wouldn't budge on his $900 price. Worked out at the time to $50 more than new. Even with a link to the advertisement he was holding fast. In hindsight I'm really glad he did. :)

May just be a case of supply and demand . If the demand drops and CC already has these produced.....they have to get rid of them some how ; and that is usually through price reduction . Sort of reminds me of when Mossberg dumped all those 590s with the 14 inch barrels into Canada ; some claimed that demand in the States had dropped for that shotgun....so they dumped them at greatly reduced prices to get rid of them....
 
$588 is tempting. I recently picked up a PSA AR with what I believe to be an FN CHF 1:7 barrel and nickel boron BCG for not a lot more.

I have a feeling the deals will keep coming on restricted stuff...

Hmmm.....good point....either way, I think my CC (credit card, not Colt Canada) will be revoked by the wife soon, lol!

The DMR shoots like a laser beam. Plus I need it for the collection.
