HI everyone! :)

Sooo, I managed to snag myself a Ruger precision rifle in .308win and need a nice scope to top it off. I have saved up 1600$ ish for a scope. I am looking for 18-24x max magnification (as it would be nice to dial in and spot for my shooting buddy as well). FFP would be a nice feature too.

So, to recap:
-1600$ max ( not 1700+ or "if you save up 500 more" or S+B are great...(yes they are but I can't afford them yet) 1600 is what I got lol)
-FFP , preferred
-18-24x magnification range (preferably 24x)
-excellent tracking
-zero stop ( would be nice )
will be learning up to ranges of 1050yards mostly 2-600 the rifle is chambered in 308 win.
-would also love to hear about some good strong bases (preferably in the 150$ max range? Bases I will admit I am not super well versed in... is that even a good price range?? )

The ones that keep coming up seem to be :
SIGHTRON Slll
VORTEX VIPER PST ( appears to have a lot of desired features? )
there's gotta be more out there than that??
help?
I respect and am open to anyone's suggestion and especially experience's.

thanks in advance :)

I think sightron would be worth a good look. I like the PST's from Vortex as well, I don't own one but a couple of friends have them. I like the zero stop system and the warranty.
I am running a Burris XTR2 in 3-15, I am very very happy with it. I will probably end up with a bigger version as well if I ever get my 338 built to put on that. Good glass, great turrets, good zero stop. It too should fall into your price range.

What are the Burris XTR II running for here?

That they have enough confidence in them to send a team to PRS events is a good sign. Equipment takes a lot of abuse in PRS matches.

I'm not sure if you can find them within your budget anymore but a Bushnell DMR would be a good option. The G2DMR reticle is one of the best out there IMO.

any ideas on who has them in Canada so I could have look ??

LeBaron sells the XTR-II. The 5-25 is $1694.00 but if you join their club for $25.00 you'll save 10% and that puts you under the $1600.00 mark. Give them a call and see what happens. Worth a shot. I do believe they are special order scopes though.

They also have the Bushnell Elite Tactical DMR with G2DMR reticle, same price.

Also no sales tax right now until Nov. 28. Keeps you in the green. Bushnell may be in stock.

Sightron has the best glass compared to the burris xtr, vortex pst, nightforce shv, bushnell dmr, etc.
Pick up a mil/mil ffp sightron and be happy !
