Picture of the day

I think most of us can relate to these types of guys regardless of their success/failure.

Why would they do that??

There were lots of Russians at Ladd Field then ..

and this document (PDF online) has many photo's of Russian military serving there ..
[h=3]]WWII Heritage of Ladd Field - National Park Service[/h]

Take a look at the pic, Comrade is very sharp and crisp compared to the rest of the somewhat grainy pic. Look at the mess around his feet. Looks as photoshopy as a flying shark. Why would they do it? who the hell knows, but Berlin and Moscow did a lot of photoshopy stuff back in the days. Maybe comrade wasnt there when he should have been, maybe another comrade was there who pissed off the wrong person and needed to go bye-bye. Just saying, looks photoshopy, not that war time pics ever got 'improved'.

when the lanc was here, they also had an cf-18 out on the tarmac you could go see and i was amazed how tiny they are. i bet you could park one in a big one car garage

Got to walk through a B17 years back when the ' Confederate Air Force' was still around. The walkway through and above the bomb racks was so narrow it was 'heel to toe' to use. Very small cockpit; though I'm no expert when it comes to planes of course.

Both the B 17 and HE 111 were almost disappointingly small when you saw them close up. And the HE 111 went to london and back night after night getting shot at both ways, carrying 6 bombs. No wonder they needed so many aircraft.

Photoshop? Looks like the comrade was added later.

I don't know if you're right or not, but I sure do see why you'd think so.

Comparing the feet, there certainly seems to be a disturbed area around them.

Comparing the heads, one blends seamlessly into the back ground, the other has a very fine light border visible.

Weird.

Fact that Soviet officer was inserted into picture to me isn't surprising.what I would like to know is who is that officer.
That would be very interesting to know.I have seen that face somewhere on Soviet pictures but I can't remember the name.

Soviets/Russian Gov. have been always great at whitewashing history and/or changing narrative to suit their purpose.
They have been doing it at least since Peter The Great and two lies they created took life of its own -"Protocols of the elders of Zion" and their relationship with Nazism before 1941.

I've posted this one before, but this is another famous "composite" Soviet propaganda pic. 3 different original pics cut together (one of the Reindeer in the foreground above a trench, another of the bomb blasts, and another of the the aircraft).

The Soviets were very good at this kind of thing LONG before photoshop existed.

It's been said that there is not a single image or film from from the ww2 eastern front on the soviet side that is not either staged or altered. Stalin and his goons controlled all information.

That is because Comrade Commissar always had polished boots and pressed uniforms so he always looked like an officer should. Not all rumpled and disorderly like the capitalist pigs.
