7.62x39 Russian Ammunition back in stock.

Don't pick on Westrifle over his prices. He ran out of 7.62x39 before anyone else, had to buy more with a $.71 dollar (unfortunately even the Russkies want payment in American greenbacks) and at probably a higher cost as well (as supplies deplete, costs will rise, basic supply and demand). He probably won't sell too much until other vendors have sold out, but these prices WILL be the new reality with such a low Canadian dollar in an American dollar economy.

Earlier comments from CaribooBC are spot on, unfortunately basic principals from Economics 101 are at play here. Like everything else we import the costs are and will continue to rise.

I'd venture to say it's a little past economics 101 given the fact that the Yuan is on the rise, soon to be backed by a gold standard...

I'm still waiting for somebody....ANYBODY....to offer an explanation on the difference between Russian/Chinese/Yugo/Bulgarian/Martian or wutever?

There is basically no difference. Its all corrosive steel core/case ammo that punch the same size holes in paper at relatively the same "combat accuracy" you'd expect from this type of ammo. Sometimes you get a different smell when shooting it...

Yhere seems to be a mark up for russian ammo, dont know why. Glad I stocked up on cheap 7.62X39...

the Us to can dollar is the SAME for ALL vendors,,,notice that all this Russian surplus is comming out at the same time from all vendors,,i suspect this higher priced vendor is because he is RE-selling product he bought from the 2 main vendors who bring all that stuff in,,,you'll also notice that the 2 vendors that are selling it much cheaper,,are both well known,VERY large main importers,,both based in the east,,,by coincedence both within 5 minutes of each other,,,so if this seller is so much higher,,might be because he has no choice,,,he will be sitting on his crates for a long time until the 2 big suppliers sell out,,,but that might be a while,,,the big supply that just came in is pretty sizable,,i'm lucky,,i pick it up for less that 250 a crate because i'm close,,

The Russian stuff is packaged nicer than the others. Copper washed in boxes with individual paper separators per layer of 5 rounds.

The Chinese stuff has the cheapest packaging with the whole pack wrapped in some very brittle paper that often tears dropping bullets as I pick them up.

The Romanian stuff is packaged similar to the Russian stuff but is laqured instead of copper washed.

Norinco non-corrosive is indeed non-corrosive which is nice if you just want to bang out a few rounds with an SKS and don't want to have to pull the gas system apart for cleaning it.

All of it seems to shoot about 2"-2.5" 100M groups in my bedded and fee floated Zastava M85. My particular rifle seems to shoot best with the cheap old Chinese Copper washed stuff where I often hit 1.5" at 100M. It's all the same in my SKS though.

I welcome Westrifles pricing. I thought they were nuts charging what they did for Bulgarian 7.62X54r but like the Russian 7.62X39 it's as good as Milsurp ammo gets. The higher prices will ensure it will remain available for a while which to me is more important than bottom line pricing. I just don't have room to buy more on my credit card or even space to store it. When I find ammo I like I like to know I can buy another case down the road after I burn though the one I have. I may choose to try a cheaper alternative at the time but having the option to buy premium Milsurp (I know that's a contradiction of terms) is nice as well. For me it takes so long to work through a crate, I hate it when I buy some crap that doesn't shoot well and I have to work through 1300+ rounds of it. My range time is valuable.

soooo,,people discussing a seller selling the SAME ammo as other sellers at about 35% over the regular price is "whiny" and "entitled" LOL... ok then,,

Dnt worry they're only feeding their own entitled ego. So lets have a discussion about this and understand why instead of trying ti stand on sone moral high ground that isn't even there. Muthafunk your remarks are an interesting position... To say the least.

this just kills me that some of you cant see past the end of your own nose and figure out / understand why the prices have gone up. dollar down .25 this morning AGAIN .71 something. Everyone wants to deal in US dollars. westrifle and all the rest of the importers have to deal in USA dollars. they also have to compeate against US dealers bidding on said products.
Some of you say that will be a frosty day when ill pay that for surplus ammo. prepare to quit shooting then because by the time the current stocks of ammo are gone in this country I personaly think we will see upwards of .40 cent a round for this stuff.

some of us CAN see past the end of our nose and HAVE bought up as much as we can afford.
its not westrifle gougeing anyone, and as he said he hates it as much as anyone.

my advice is buy up some oldstock while you still can, and we are gona have to live with it

wont only be ammo that goes up, filling the fridge and deepfreezer gona go up 30 percent shortly to

What you are saying is not an argument. As far as some us not seeing past the end of our noses, I guess some of us just are more aware than yourself on these matters.its not something I want to take on in a vendor forum, but would love a fact based debate on the markets dollar value and how business operate.
