Apparent LEO told me my Tavor was going prohib this morning.

All Bull pups should be banned. They have no credible use in today's society.

Care to offer a reason to this or is this simply an unsubstantiated opinion? I get bullpup may not be for everyone but considering how they are not at all public security risk I am entirely lost as to why you would judge what I own. Why would anyone want a compact firearm that still allows you to take advantage of a longer barrel, gee I can't think at all how that might be appealing.
And now I will stop feeding the trolls and go shoot my impractical rifles that should be banned for no rational reason.

I wouldn't believe what a lone random cop from a reserve has to say about politics, especially from quebec if it's about firearm politics. I would say move along, nothing to worry about.

Didn't show or off any ID, he's an "alleged" cop as far as I'm concerned. I'd rather not get painted with the same brush as some random Jean in a Quebec reserve gun shop.

I actually agree with you and don't think you come off as #####y! When I bought my Gen 1 tavor I would hear BS like this regularly.

I've also heard from LEO's that if I put my beo magazine it turns the Tavor into a prohibited device, and even witnessed off duty LEO's plinking in the bush with restricteds.

I suppose the lesson here is that an LEO is not a good source for firearms law knowledge in this country.

And I bought some steel tipped hollow points at Beaver Lumber the other day.

You should have seen the look on the faces of some people I know when I showed them hollow point ammo. That was, until I showed them my recite from Walart where I bought it (I believe I even posted that here).

Too many people that I know (not into guns) think hollow point ammo is banned here. I buy it simply because it's cheaper than the non hollow point stuff sometimes (when asked by friends "why do you need hollow point ammo???")

I go to pretty much the same gun store and the same gun range ALL the time, so it's only a matter of time right? I brought my SKS to the same gun store inquiring about one of those rail mounts to stick a scope on mine a month ago. No LEO interaction, nor have I had any interaction with any of my other semi's at the same establishment... But others here have their random encounters at various places (which they post here quite often). Comes with the territory I guess... I truly envy those who call "BS"... I wish I lived where they do. A magical land with unicorns and CFO's who coddle them..... ;)

This was quebec after all, they are making their own registry, so likely they will be able to find anything that they ban in future

The Quebec government won't be able to ban anything. Classification is at the federal level, not the provincial level.

The results are still the same. Care to guess how many of the once free AK were turned in or registered upon prohibition? I believe stats put it at 2 in 3 AKs were involved in boating accidents.

Its going to take going toe to toewith these bastards on every level to keep your freedoms. Be prepared to do less and you will loose.

boating accidents are frequent in canada, i lost a bunch of non restricted rifles while canooing across okanagan lake last fall.

I heard over at the post office that there are going to be huge layoff's of police very soon as the government was going to go on the honor system , with the expectation of those that break the laws to turn themselves in to a new branch of the government [ yet to be created] where they will be issued the appropriate fine .

little does the plain clothes officer know that he will be out of a job soon ......

Neither are threads like this, lol!

I believe that we as gun owners have been the target of a campaign, designed to dishearten us for years. The goal is to slowly break down our resolve to resist. When it happens, that the next ban occurs; we should not cry out; the scariest thing for the government to hear is.......silence. No shouting, no letters, no outraged marches and protests; just a silent, peaceful, non-compliance. We "just say.....no", by our actions, not our voices. Now that! will keep them awake at night.

Peaceful non-compliance.

<...snip>, i suspect there will be much more talking than action in this first mandat... JP

That's the funniest reply on this whole tread..... this First mandate.... Bwahhh hahaha.

If by some profound act of Canadian Voter f@ckdom there is a second mandate for the Liberals, Gun rights will be our least concern.
