How do they mail the PAL? Is it just lettermail or does it require signature? Time to BC??![]()
Regular mail, plain brown envelope from the RCMP in Miramichi. Mine showed up today and it said on the paper it was issued on the 3rd, so ~1 week to BC.

My photo has been scanned, my application has been sent to the CFO for a background check, I have a clean record but I am a little concerned. I have been searched and delayed a couple times crossing the border because their is a criminal in Ontario with the same name as me, therefore my name is flagged. Even though I have never been to Ontario and I have a clean record it can still be an issue with the border guards. I hope it is not with the CFO, if it is I would like a chance to explain.
If I don't see any progress can I call the CFO? or do I just have to wait. I am located in Alberta

20. a) Have you passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course?
20. c) Have you been certified by the Chief Firearms Officer as meeting the safety training requirements or have you successfully completed a course approved by the Attorney General of Manitoba or Quebec prior to 1995?
I have a question about the above two questions.
I passed the CFSC course and just got a card in the mail from the Ministere Forets, Faune, Parcs du Quebec. It's the Hunter's Certificate that's also proof of completion of the course.
Do I just answer yes to 20A and no to 20C? I'm not sure of the difference. Is 20C for instructors?
YES YES YES. Your application has been processed and your license has been issued. If you have not received your license within 2 weeks please contact the Canadian Firearms Program Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000) This is exactly day 28.
