Walmart ammo buying experience

I found 30-30 at Walmart about $10 a box cheaper, I guess they were slow to up their prices. When I finally got to the check out I had to really convince the lady that even though the computer said "check customers FAC" my PAL was in fact what she needed to see. I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to buy it because she didn't believe me at first.

No, they've probably had it for the last 5 years on the shelf.

Wally world has good prices on ammo, as always empty shelves now a days.
I usually grab the first clerk as i walk in because there is never anyone in sporting. Usually buy alot because of the price. I get looks and comments, maybe one day i will reply, just not worth my time and aggervation. Sometimes i change my mind and buy more.
one time i got 4 bulk pack dynapoints, a potato masher and meythal hydrate. The looks could start fires.

Be well

Yeah, and they make you show it twice too. Once to staff before they unlock it, then again at the register when the prompt comes up. I had one East Indian cashier just bypass the prompt because she didn't know what it was Lol!.

I haven't had any problem at Wallmart,I just have my PAL out and show them before they ask.Canadian Tire has a funny policy though, they take your choice of knives or ammunition to the front counter where you pay for it and leave the store..

Problem is,every hardware store in town sold ammunition, and 'sporting goods' stores meant fishing gear , guns and ammunition...not 'name brand' shoes and designer jeans...so yes,I'll buy ammunition from whatever store is selling it,or pretty soon they won't be..

My funniest time purchasing ammo from Walmart was when I was traveling from one city to back home and stopped in for some washer fluid which was on sale at the time. Being a gun guy, I always wander down to the ammo section to check it out. Well low and behold they had boxes of Winchester 7.5 in 12g listed at $2.50 a box. I know the regular price is usually around 7 or 8 bucks so I called an employee over and asked her to verify the price. She punched it into her price gun and said "Yup, that's the right price" I said I would take some and she called the employee with the keys to help me. Well I waited and waited and eventually he came round and I told him which one I wanted and he asked just one and I told him all of them. Well he had to go and get a cart to put them all in and started to pull them off the shelf. I ended up grabbing 28 boxes total and when I got back to my home city I decided to check my local Walmart in case it was the same price there. It was the regular price at 8 bucks a box and when I asked the manager if they would price match another store, he said he would. I showed him the receipt from the other store and he said wow that's a low price. So I ended up grabbing all the shells there too and ended up with around 60 boxes between the two stores for $2.50 a box. I've never seen anything like that since.

And you stopped at just two stores?;)

Very few staff at my WalMart speak English, so it's especially difficult when you want something that's not just on the shelf. I did discover that if you go to the tire shop they can get ammo for you, and you can pay at the tire shop too.

When I was reading this I was like: damn thats because of people like that that we never have anything

then I looked at myself and thought...well I'd probable the first to do the same thing!

that was a pretty good discount ! I would have stacked deep any caliber I shoot for that kind of price drop.
