Walmart ammo buying experience

They do restock from time to time , but the first couple of people who sees it , buys it all.....so their new stock only lasts a day or two....

I found the Walmart employees are not the brightest but I don't care because their ammo is cheaper than anywheres else. Always gotta track one person down. I know mine will open and I will pay there and be walking around with bag of ammo around till I'm finished with my other shopping.

My most ackward moment is when I was in Ontario and saw some federal match at a decent price a few years ago, so asked an older gentleman for he ammo.. He asks how many boxes, I replied 4. He then goez 4??? We need to register your info bla bla.. He then proceed to write my pal in a log book and cir les the 4 like its a giant quantity LOL !
In Quebec its pretty much casual business buying ammo compared to my limited exp in Ontario.

My understanding is that it is up to the individual manager what is stocked in their store, you have a manager problem not a Walmart problem
I'll buy the odd 30-30 box or Federal birdshot packs. Usually no issue finding someone with keys. No goofy comments either. Then I have them bring it to electronics an aisle or two away for quick payment.
Look for incorrect pricing too. I saw they had the $24 black box Winchester 30-30 priced wrong at $17 like the silver box stuff so I bought the last few boxes at the lower price which they honoured.

I've been told at two different locations that they are changing suppliers and have had trouble bringing in .22LR for months. It doesn't help that when it does show up, some people completely clean them out. I was purchasing ammunition sparingly but from what the associates have told me you pretty well need to buy it up when it appears.
This was not the case when I still worked at Walmart -- at least not for the store I worked in, at any rate. Whichever Sporting Goods associate was on shift had the keys, and if they happened to be on break or doing a customer carry-out getting into that case could take half an hour or more depending on how closely the managers were listening to the intercom. Slowed things down toward the end of my night, as I was not permitted to leave fresh stock outside of the case. Management didn't even like it being left on my receiving desk.

Walmart in Burnaby, BC had Federal 500 bricks for $28 plus tax 2 weeks ago.
Winner winner , we have a winner.
Tuesdays from now on is the'' My Bad Experience at WallyMart'' .

I woulda been right down at CS and asking to Speak with the Store Manager, some Associate.

That may be right but it still comes down to being a Walmart problem. What people see in the store and how they are treated is perceived and associated with Walmart. In this case, the store manager is a woman. I'm sure complaining to her would do a lot of good if she is the reason they don't stock anything. And complaining to corporate office is a joke. I tried that.
3 years ago you couldn't buy groceries in this Walmart Now half the store is groceries and it hasn't expanded in size. I can tell you there are a lot of other departments in this store that have a few items of this and that but not much of anything. At least that way they can still claim they "carry everything". And this store is located in a busy mall.
