CZ 455 Quality?

Google cz 455 3/8 takes you to cz site with a 455 with 3/8 dovetail

Copy and past from the cz usa web page

"Q: “What rings do I need for my rimfire rifle?”

A: All 455s have 11mm dovetails. Beyond that, the dovetails might be 11mm or 3/8″ depending on whether the platform was developed for the US market or the European market. The foolproof way to tell is to take a measurement. ⅜″ dovetails will measure 0.5″/12.7mm at the top/widest part of the dovetail. 11mm dovetails will measure 0.433″/11mm at the top/widest part."

Also from the cz usa site

"Sights No Sights, Integrated 11mm Dovetail"

But did you see the 455 with 3/8s post?

The CZ 455 American is a high quality rimfire rifle designed for the U.S. market. The American model is true to the lines of the classic American sporter style rifle. Made without sights, the top of the receiver is machined with a 3/8” wide dovetail groove for mounting standard rimfire dovetail mounts. The CZ 455 American comes with a 5 round polymer magazine with an option to buy a 10 round magazine. The safety is located above the rear of the bolt and provides a positive firing pin block.

From czub yes I know it is wrong though. They are all machined with 11mm. If you have a ⅜ one is it the only one.

It would appear that something on the internet is not true. Continue looking at the web page below the section quoted above for another "mistake" as shown here:
"Incorporating new features can be seen also on the sights. The rear signy enables adjustments for elevation and windage and the new shape of front signy base facilitates precise aiming." https://www.czub.cz/en/produkty/malorazky/boltaction/cz-455-american.html
There is no word "signy" that applies here, but it is on the web site.

The CZ 455, whatever model, has 11mm dovetails. You can take that to the bank.

Thank you. I currently own a Savage Mark 2 but the wood leaves something to be desired. Thinking about upgrading to the CZ.

Like anything the beauty of the wood is in the beholder.
Buying a new one online is a hit or a miss , so you best go and see one in person and handle one or three before settling on the one that will be yours.
They are going Northward of $650.00 and one has to be satisfied with the looks when dropping that amount of cash.
You could buy the fancy one with the scroll works and polish job knowing it will be worth the $$$ asking for it, but there is always the chance one will not like something about it.

The flip side to all this is that they ( the cz455 ) will shoot very well with just about any ammo as long as you dont try and say Remington .22 ammo is the best for it....

Tight Groups,
Rob

I'll take a look again when I'm home. All I remember was the leupold 11mm did not work at all on mine. The rings looked totally cockeyed and would not even tighten up properly

Once again stop talking about the sad story with your rings the question at hand is what size is the 455 dovetail slot and nothing else.

I will order you a 3/8" dovetail mount for a 455 from here just tell me where it is. https://www.diproductsinc.com/Products.aspx?CAT=4268 "LOL" Now that shouldn't to difficult.
What was the Leopold ring set part #?

Have both a Savage mkII and a CZ455 Lux, both are great, but the CZ455 is much nicer, for still pretty good value. Bolt is way smoother, and never had any extraction issues. It's sturdy too. My stock has some nice tiger stripes. Would put some pics up but too much effort :p

All of my 455's are good shooters especially the evolution with an American barrel.Took the varmint barrel of and switched.I am going to shorten the American barrel soon after a few visits to the range.May go next weekend if weather seems to be ok.

Just measured it and I'll admit it is 11mm. Not sure why the leupold rings (# 54234 11mm high) don't fit worth a crap. I found a spare set of them I had in the drawer and evened tryed them to refresh my memory. Same issues. Would not suggest these rings as the 3/8 worked without issue

There is no admission required glad that they are truly 11mm.
I was so looking forward to adding another 455 to my collection.
This was truly a fun post and all is well,
No worries. Cheers :)

I have burris and leupold 11mm both fit great.

I had the wooden stock crack after 3 months.

Never broken a wood stock every.
