CZ-Shadow 2

OK Rob point taken. Do you expect to sell 1,000 Shadow2's in Canada? Probably not. I am not sure what definition you want to use for small niche market but te gun sells into a small group of IPSC shooters who feel they must have or can benefit from this gun. I suspect most will stick with their present Tans, other iterations of the CZ 75 line up including the present Shadow, Shadowline and Canadian Editions all of which have been, up to now, the CZ's to use in IPSC Production.

I only mentioned IDPA to let a wider audience of cross over shooters Gun Nutz attracks that the gun weighs to much for IDPA. Frankly, the weight and size issue took me by surprise although it should have dawned on me given the longer barrel and obviously the need for a longer dust cover would add weight.

You should be aware that I was one of the few who successfully championed internally for the weight requirements to be raised to allow the Shadow and CZ 97 to play n our sport. The weight limit for the three main pistol divisions is now set at 43 oz. and the dust cover rule was amended allowing both to play.

As you correctly point out CZ does make a number of excellent pistols suitable for IDPA. The Shadow2 is just not one of them.

:ar15:Saw a Tanfoglio bb pistol today all steel feels very real in your hand & the slide cycles when fired. Just wondered if anyone has fired one & if it actually feels like recoil? At $89 was thinking it would be very cheap practice.

Sorry, but what does this have to do with the shadow 2?

Sorry bout that this looked very similar to a shadow 2. Same slide same frame by just looking at the pics . Just thinking out loud I guess.

My personal opinion is that dry fire is as effective or more than airsoft practice. Then again nothing beats live fire practice.

I find it a bit greasy that some dealers are asking for money up front to reserve a Shadow 2. We all know this is pistol is going to sell every unit Canada can import for the first year plus of production. There is zero risk of a dealer ordering some from the importer and the simply taking people's names down in the order they call in. I can see maybe a $100 pre-payment that is refundable if the customer changes his mind, but a non-refundable deposit or full payment up front I think is uncalled for.

I agree my dealer is taking a 20$ deposit only on these....

If these guns arrive and some folks report negatively or a not overwhelmed how many guns do you think your local retailer is going to sell at north of $1,500 plus tax and how quickly? I am sure they will perform well but I suspect they are not going to make many guys better shooters/scorers than they are now. CZ makes an excellent product and the gun will be very good but if every retailer brings in say three guns and, well you can do the math. It means money is tied up until the guns sell. Guns sell at a relatively low gross profit margin so your retailer has to have fast turn over to survive on most of his/her inventory. If it were me a 20% non refundable down payment would be the order of the day. No ticky......no laundry.

Where are you getting $1500 plus? Mine will be under $1450 to my door.

You don't have sales tax...yet.

Yeah the ndp will give us one soon enough. Only to be abolished in a few years when we reelect the conservatives. Well, they'll promise they will, but we all know how politicians follow through on election promises.

Wolverine has them for 1375. Not the best price by any means. But they take a 200 deposit and they also give you a $100 gift certificate to put towards more CZ stuff in the future. Like a couple mags or a holster. So the price isn't bad.

Also comparing the pricing... I think it's a bit high for a CZ, even though it is the new upgraded version. It will render the older versions obsolete pretty quick here and unless you have a tuned up version of a Shadowline or Shadowmate, it will likely replace those for a lot of people too with the longer sight radius, better ergonomics, shorter trigger reset and more of a 'tanfoglio' appeal.

Not sure why anyone thinks the price is a bit high, compared to the guns it's targeted against it's less.

I'll be playing with Maria's in about 8hrs, will try to get more pics at some point.

Wait 6 months and buy them any day you like on EE. Same thing happened with Shadows 2 years ago. Everyone lines up and pays full pop for the next miracle and then unloads it shortly thereafter because there is a new wondergun to be bought. Patience, you'll buy a Shadow 2 for less than retail in the near future if you understand how sheeple work.

Absolutely true, they make the grip a tiny bit more ergonomic and polish the hammer a wee bit, (which they should've done years ago), and voila...the latest and greatest pistol in the history of mankind is here, ladies and gentlemen! Step right up, cheap at twice the price, check out the hype...it'll shoot bulls eyes at 100 yards automatically and cure your rheumatism. LOL, was it PT Barnum that said there's a sucker born every minute? Thank God he was right, they're wonderful for our economy! I'm not directing this at CZ, by the way, they're just hyping their product like every other company does, and I own a Shadow 1 and with comp hammer and lighter springs...they're a fantastic pistol. I just get a chuckle out of how many gullible people there are out there, that believe every ad ever written...and thank you...my stock portfolio is doing quite well! :)

sure if the Shadow 2 was simply a polished Shadow, it's not. It's an entirely new gun.
I didn't see Jakub today and neither Robin nor Maria knows what color schemes are coming out. I would expect that you guys will see live guns in Canada before I get down to the factory in June. Unless I sneak over next week when I am in Slovakia.
And yes, the guns really are better to shoot than the 1s
