Precision/Sniper/Tactical

I did use tape measurement and input the measurement on the website. I wonder if SP4001 will not clear the barrel and SP4002 will have too much room. Has anyone ever used the calculator? Is there a way to be sure if I don't have the scope yet to try it on the rifle? I am trying to order it at the same time with the scope to save shipping.

Stack playing cards until flush with top of rail from handguard. That is how much more height you can "add" to the rings.

Definitely prefer the classic thumbhole stock too.
I own 2 AWSM and love them so much.
If you look for the new AI factory bipod in black for your AT, let me know (PM) as I have a brand new one for sale.

Wow....that's a beauty! Awesome reputation goes along with those rifles..
How long did you have to wait for that?

Thanks! The rifle took about 2 years to build, but during that time Mike R. suffered a major health setback and issues from one of his suppliers, so it's usually not quite that long of a wait.

This is the most beautiful rifle I have ever had the pleasure of seeing with my own eyes and holding in my hands. I started shooting a lot of competitions this year, and I have been around a lot of really high end rifles: PGW, AI, GAP's, Surgeons, SAC, Stuteville customs, etc., and nothing really compares. Hell my match rifle is a GAP, which I really like, but there's something about this TacOps rifle. The attention to detail is insane, and I never could have imagined a remington 700 action feeling this good! This rifle truly is more than just the sum of its parts.

Unfortunately according to the members of CGN remington 700 actions just aren't as accurate as rifles built off of custom actions, so I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up for accuracy:p...

You're probably right. My guess is about 12moa with FGMM. I'll take it off your hands so you don't embarrass yourself at the range.

Ssshhhhh, don't tell my .223, 260 or .308 customs built off Rem 700's that they are not able to go out and play with my Barnards, PGW's or TRG !

Seriously, that TacOps is simply awesome. Congrats on owning such a nice rifle.

This what it looks like with SP4002. It looks like there is plenty room to go lower. I took this picture few weeks ago. Just got a time to post it now. Should I go with SP4001?

My pal used a lower mount for is TRG-22 (not a flat top), though I'm not sure if he used the 30m or 34mm tall mount:

Misterdonut, are you able to ask your friend the height of the mount? I am told that if I go lower, the"belly" of the scope will hit the mount.

Yeah, I asked and he definitely had the SP4001.

Specs from the website:

Model No: SP-4001
Ring size: 34 mm
Height: 30mm/1.18"
Length: 121mm/4.76"
Cant: 0Mil/0MOA

Looks like there's still a little wiggle room between the Schmidt and the TRG-22.

So I measured the space between the "belly" of the scope and the mount and it is about 0.3 to 0.35 cm. I have to buy the mount to try it on. Wish I know someone who has one for me to try.

What is the con of having a scope mount that is not low enough? The difference between SP4001 and SP4002 is 0.04 mm
