So when are the Tikka T3's going on sale in anticipation of the T3x's ??? (!)

Yes , of course, I usually check few load sources .
25.2 is a hot load, is your Tikka heavy barreled?

A heavy barrel doesn't change the safe chamber pressure. And checking several sources does not replace working up a load. You are not using the rifle that the people producing the manuals used, or the same lot numbers of components that they used. Even two rifles of the same make and model can produce different pressures using the exact same load, and changing lots of powder can result in a change in chamber pressure.

Held a t3x the other day at cabelas. Was stainless. 1400.00 and heavy barrel.

I didn't see much big improvements to justify the cost. Yes there is a modular stock with wider fore stock pieces available. Bolt felt same / similar to regular T3. Didn't try trigger, had lock on it.

Non heavy barrel stainless 1200.00

I have to laugh cause I called it. $400 more for a new one? No thanks.

The only thing that interests me in the new version are the metal bolt shroud and recoil lug, both of which will be available for individual purchase and will fit a normal T3. I picked up a stainless from prairie gun traders for 799. I'm guessing the new ones will be 1100-1200 bucks. Which makes these deals right now a steal.

I handled a T3X Varmint .223 in SS at the LGS last weekend. Have to say I like the improvements - in particular the new stock and grip.

I'd imagine our weaker CDN$ relative to when the pricing for the T3 was originally established is having an effect on CDN MSRP.

Lots of pre-owned T3s around though for those that want to stick with the original model.

Laugh21200 for a plastic stocked T3. I think they may have a tough time with sales.

Gotta say, the Tikka's I handled were nice, I liked them and I'd have no problem purchasing one .... but they are one of the most tupperware feeling rifles I've ever held !!

For 1200 you can buy a Kimber classic, or a new model 70 EW, or a used Montana, or for cheaper a Rem 700 mountain The T3 is a budget rifle that is fully out of control on the price front.

cdn shooter,

That was pretty much my conclusion also on the T3's. Think I'd go for a Vanguard S2. Better deal for what one is getting imo if going for a budget choice.

The price on the discounted tikkas at epps is really good right now. Both of the ones i bought (which were already discounted) were $50 more apiece when I bought them a April and May. Only common sense is keeping me from buying another one.
