2000-3000$ scope, what would you buy?

Does anyone here with a DMR/ERS care to comment if they feel 21x is enough or do you wish you had 25x or more?

For what range??

If 1000 I'd want more, but many more experienced and/or pros do 1000 with 12x.

I've done 6-800 with my 21x.

At 1000m, my 21x wasn't enough (my eyes aren't so great either) and I was able to see a bit better with my 25x.

I saw the ERS on the EE but I'm thinking that I would get annoyed with the Horus reticle pretty quickly. I much prefer the G2, less clutter.

21x is plenty for shooting gongs at 1000. If you're trying to punch paper, that's a whole different ballgame. I'd be more concerned about optical clarity than magnification at that range anyways. Making a blurry image more magnified doesn't help you shoot.

Ya wasnt sure on the price. I had been looking threw their 10-50 fclass scope and knew you could get them for under $3000. Figured the other one would be cheaper actually but i guess not.

The battle ready versions are always way more. The target/BR/F's aren't built as heavy.

I was in the same boat as you. Wanted quality glass, but was having trouble justifying some of the prices for the top of the line stuff. My budget was $3000, and at the time (6 months ago) almost no one had a lot of options in stock. I ended up getting a kahles 3-12x50. It's glass was crystal clear, and it was great, but shortly after buying it, I decided I wanted a higher zoom than 12 power. I heard good things about IOR Valdada, but no one in Canada sold them, and the scope I wanted was $3100 American, plus shipping. Then I stumbled on a website, optics-trade.eu. I was pleasantly surprised at their prices and ended up ordering the IOR 4-28x50 crusader. It came in at $2700 Canadian, about what I paid for the kahles 3-12. Scope just arrived in the mail today, I'm very happy with it. So don't cross IOR off your list just yet.

Forgot to mention finding rings for the huge 40mm tube on the IOR can be a pain. I ordered a spuhr ideal scope mount direct from spuhr. Arrived in about a week from ordering, but pricey at $500

Consider the Sightron SIII 6-24X50 FFP LRMH... lots of elevation travel, great glass, solid tracking, way less money.

I own 3 NightForce and 1 S&B, and Sightron SIIIs.

The Sightron SIIIs are one great product line for the cost.
Do consider them.

Some very good advice here - I also own S+B, Nightforce and Leupold Mk 4 scopes but still say that the Sightron Siii's are the real 'value buy' and, in particular the 8-32x56 SFP with MOA reticule is a real gem.

After trying several scopes I ended up with Sightron S3 10-50x60. Was impressed with the first and bought a second. It is good value for your money.

I own 2 8-32x56 SIIIs and also believe they are the gems of the line.

All this subjectivity and no ones posted this?

It's from 2014 but some surprising results that would definitely factor in if I was laying out OPs cash...

I've read several of the posts on there, including the optics one. It's one of the reasons I looked into IOR and also one of the reasons I'm leaning towards a Bushnell.

I still haven't decided.
