I think underthegun is trying to tell you to read the rules. A challenge can only be on one target, you shot 10 groups on that piece of paper and unfortunately the bottom ones spoiled it.Good shooting though.

If he measures all the groups, and all are under 1/2" he can submit it as a 10 group successful attempt.

I'm not that good! Sorry for jumping the gun guys, measured the bottom groups - so close but so far away. I'll break the bad news to the wife that I'll have to spend more time at the range next weekend. I'll make sure to read the rules again before posting next time.

I feel for you. But hey, what is so bad about having to go out and do more shooting. Looks like you shouldn't have any troubles.

I would also like to say thank you for being fine with the disappointment. I recently asked a fellow to add his measurements to a successful attempt and his reply was less than kind.

I'm far from Disappointed. I started off this summer with a 1.5"+ average, I've learned lots in the chase of smaller groups to complete this challenge. Now I gotta find more Eley Match...

Honestly, I think the winners list would be quite a bit shorter (and I would start the disqualification with myself) if the rule was 10 groups of 5 rounds.
While I agree that TheWhole9Yards should have stopped shooting after completing the 25 round challenge, the fact is that a single flyer ruined his second attempt but the first attempt was a success. Plus, it's one of the cheapest rifles out there with a 3-9 Bushnell scope, not the Hubble telescope on a fancy top-of-the-line target rifle.
Hats off, I congratulate!

BTW, I was just shooting with my Savage FV this afternoon. I got a few under 1/2" groups with CCI Standard but not consistent enough for the challenge. Maybe next time.

Because rules are rules. It doesn't matter if it took you 30000 rounds to post your target. As long as you follow the post rules your good to go......lol. Doesn't mean you and your rifle shoot 1/2 groups all day, but as long as people are having fun that's all that matters. Btw there is some sarcasm in this post.

Was a nice day for shootin', fairly calm wind until the evening. Range was busy, couple of AR's bangin' off on both sides of me but I was not to be foiled! It's time to post a success as I'm now all out of SK and Lapua ammo, nothing else was showing better potential so this is as good as it gets for now. Those dang fliers! So close to getting all .2"s and .3"s. Rifle probably needs a couple thousand more rounds through it to settle those down some, I had a bunch of 4-shot 1 hole groups spoiled by a single flier usually going over 1/2".

Anschütz 64 MS R
Lapua X-Act
Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 BDC
Caldwell Rock + rear bag

Groups:
