Meaford Long Range Steel Challenge (2-day PRS points race match)

Yeah, I was just thinking my baggage is going to be hilarious going thru security. Armageddon gear fatbag large in multicam and a scope as carry on, and then in checked ~11 pounds of ammo and other various bags and firearm cleaning items. Not sure how I'm going to fit a 36" dewey rod into my bag, as my rifle case is only 35.75" long. Might have to bite the bullet and buy a multi piece rod to clean after sighting in on Friday.

Me too. I really need to know what barricades they plan to set up so I'll know if I need to bring a small bag, a large bag, etc for support. I need to see some pictures. Can't wait to shoot this event.

Bring everything you have for bags. You will see no barricades till the weekend of the shoot.
Most are very practical. What you would find in a urban or hunting situation.

Knowing what things are going to look like kind of defeats the purpose. lol! I will tell you that even once you get the match manual, there are going to be a few curve balls when you see the actual barricades. There are some things that are quite common, but were in a certain condition when we found them and we decided to run with them the way they were when we found them. They will present some interesting challenges...

Yards for sure. Will add meters time permitting. We won't know exact distances till we finish set-up and LRF the targets. Everything then gets updated in the match booklet in a mad rush.

I typically bring 50 and have some left over in case of re-shoots.

CoF calls for 200 rounds. 182 if shot clean. One stage has unlimited rounds. We have allotted 19 rounds for it (more than twice what is needed). I've not been able to shoot more than 16 on an unlimited stage with a boltgun and would have been far better off if I had just slowed down. lol!

No pre-registration, just register for the match when you arrive and arrive early enough to do it before we move to the range.

Will we have a practice shooting on Friday late afternoon/evening? I want to get feel which bags that suits on some stages. I prefer to use the correct bag size for that stage and a smaller bag for other stages. I believe I have to carry them while I am at the any stages, correct?

Friday will just be for gathering come-ups. There will also be some demo rifles form some of the sponsors.

There is no advanced run of the stages. What makes these matches challenging is that you're dealing with a set-up for the first time, as you would in a real life situation. Shooters in the squad usually take turns going first, so you will see what others do before you go up in most cases. Just bring the bags you want to use in your pack. The pads are not very large. Your back will be close and you will only have to move it a few yards for each stage.

Curious if sponsors will be selling their products? I'm interested in a reasor "game changer" and an armband. Otherwise I'll just order direct.

They won't be selling, but some will have tables.

Reasor will not be there, but they have put a couple game changer bags on the prize table.
