I guess I am a purist, preferring something as close to the real QBZ as possible in terms of form and function and reliability.
But I can understand your stand point as well.
 
I have a 13### and 14### and both work with the same mags. I never filed the guns anywhere, some mags they didn't like. I have 10 IWI mags, doesn't like 1 of them. 2 PCV, doesn't like 1 of them. 1 c prudcts .50, either like it.

Cheap bulk metal mags - work perfect in both.

I just tested out every mag I had and sold the ones it didn't like.

Edit, if they had the option... I'd probably have one of each of the mag styles lol.

I've got 6 IWI mags, mine likes all of them. I also have 12 LAR pistol mags, and they all work perfectly too. The mag it came with never worked, and the mag me mate got with his tavor works. I have the rest as gen 2 and random gen 3 pmags that were trial and error for fit and feeding.

It's really autistic for magazines, if they fit too loose (jiggle in the magwell), you will get the FTF issues, hence why I shimmed some of my magazines.

Yeah mine likes all my LAR mags. My factory mag works perfect. C products mag works perfect. And cheap corwin arms mags work perfect.

This shows it best, the pic rail actually sits lower than the stock rail, you might even be able to co-witness that red dot, which is neat. I like that it keeps the QBZ profile.

Hmm I'd say yes. If I wanna spend money or reload 75gr match rounds is say average 1.5 moa. With a couple here and there under it and over it.

I'm looking to get a tritium front sight though, does anyone know if standard AK sight posts will screw in, or if Norinco posts are different dimensions?

I think so, but Im speaking of the airsoft version here, but that is claimed to be built to real steel specs, and for the most part they are. I was able to screw in AK front sight posts in that.
