Reliable Gun's Annual Sale!! THIS WEEKEND, UPDATE: Sale has now ended

Was anyone able to score a burris eliminator online?

I did. Missed out on another online sale couple months ago. Because I put cc expiry backwards lol. Learned my lesson and fast as possible this time. Made a second order after for other stuff and will pay double shipping but I knew I wouldn't have time to add another item

Missed out on the couple things I'd have liked, but way she goes.

Even though I bought nothing thanks for the great sale Reliable!!!

Another "snooze, you lose" moment. I figured at 30% off I would finally pick up a Fenix flashlight. Nope, all gone. I'll just have to remember to pick one up when they restock.

Speaking of restocking, I've been waiting months for Reliable to restock Franzen combination cable locks. Any word on when they might be coming in?

Drove by at 10:30.

Line-up outside the door.

I don't go to gong show lemming sales.

Have enough ####.

Went to the store around 1 PM, no line up but busy inside, got a couple deals I wanted and got a damn good free hot dog on the way out. Didn't inquire about the door prizes as there was nothing I really wanted. Then went home and found a couple more deals I missed when the online store went up, so ordered those as well.

Feel sorry for people that had a bad experience, mine was pretty good.

This is amazing. I've never heard of such great deals before, and now I definitely will be checking back often and will also keep an eye out each year!

My experience today:

No line up when I got there, but a packed store. Out of hot dogs, out of the ammo I wanted, no name taken for door prizes, lots of "I'm not sure where that is, talk to the guy with the line up formed to see him. There were several counter staff doing nothing but talking to each other, not too happy with any questions or pulling any ammo I wanted to see the price on and doing their beat to make me feel like I was nothing but an interruption to their conversations with other staff content to socialise instead of help out customers. You could really tell who the main staff were, as they were busting their asses off.

I ended up getting a bunch of the LAR mags I wanted, still no idea if they sell couplers, let alone metal ones for the mags, got my charging handle at 20% off, got some 9mm and .223 ammo at higher prices and different brands than I was wanting, got some solvent for the SKS that my son needs to clean the hell out of and was sent on my way, disappointed with the experience of driving in from Maple Ridge to spend more and get less than I wanted and feeling like an inconvenience on the drive home.

I doubt that I am entered in any of the door prize give-aways, no hot dogs for my boy, which I thought would have been a cool touch, way less ammo and not a great brand for one at almost retail price and feeling like unwound have gotten better treaent buying online than what I got after making the over hour long drive to get there to support a local shop. I expected "crazy busy" and staff that could only do so much while being sed, but feeling like a mooch at a soup line by staff just hanging around (one walking away when asking about ammo to joke with another staff who was also not helping anyone), not getting what I was hoping to get because of being blown off by staff that didn't know if they had what I wanted in stock and not wanting to look around for it or ask another employee), before driving an hour and a half through tragic to get back home.

I was REALLY looking forward to attending this sale, counting down the days, following the updates, reading the emails sent to me, picking out the stuff I wanted to get to finish my AR build, stocking up on ammo for my first trip to the range with four of my new toys, stocking up on cleaning/lubrication supplies, getting in on the awesome door prizes, showing my son what is available out there (HIS FIRST VISIT TO THE GUN STORE) and letting him pick a firearm to work for that will be his very own, letting him get on on the fun of the event, but we walked out way sooner than we wanted to, feeling extremely disappointed by the experience, unhappy with what I took home (no, it wasn't an out of stock situation) and like we wasted the better part of the day for the privilege of experiencing this disappointment. It's too bad, reliable has an awesome looking store and the whole event seemed like it was going to be a lot of fun. Instead, we're feeling pretty bummed out and empty handed after the whole experience.

Please excuse any smart phone auto-corrections and typos

I have been to 3 of these great events, and saved hundreds of dollars. Stood inline for hours in the rain, arrived mid morning and showed up late last year, the later I arrived the less there was to choose from... the things I was looking for.
I would suggest that if you want the full experience you and your son should get there bright and early next year, (dress warm and bring supplies) like those first 20 guys did, and if you go there knowing what you want, the world will be yours for the picking. I am sure you will have a better story to share.

Thats my experience.

First come first served.

Wow, lots of newbies to these annual sales and internet shopping. It is a zoo so be prepare for it and enjoy the gong show.

I understand how it works and was fully prepared to have missed out on some of the crazy deals. I am realistic as to what I should expect in the way of stock, incredibly busy salesmen, bumping shoulders trying to get through the aisles, etc. I really don't mind any of that and no sour grapes for missing out on certain deals. The biggest issue that I had was in the way that we were treated by the part time staff that they brought in. Seeing a store being that busy and having pairs of staff just standing there talking and joking around while the real staff are busting their asses was annoying, and I really felt for the owner/management of the place. When I approached the loafers, being treated like an inconvenient street person begging for change, getting attitude when asking for prices on ammo, asking about ammo that I saw in the advert and having the salesman look over his shoulder, say he doesn't know if they have any left and leaving it at that, asking what .223 ammo they have on special and he grabs a box of UMC and being told "here, 5% off" then turning to finish his story about what he did last night to his fellow do-nothing employee, asking about magazine couplers and being told there should be some plastic ones somewhere (then asking if they have metal ones and being told "the plastic ones are good enough), asking about the door prizes and having the guy say "is this all you want?" And turning back to his BFF to continue his story before I could even answer. That was a part of my experience that I drove three hours to get to and from, along with the gas I burned through for good measure.

I really didn't expect to take home the store for 50% off, basking in the after-glow from the VIP treatment and lap-dance from the owner, followed by Facebook posts from my son telling the world about what an amazing dad I am for taking him on a holiday to Fraser Street in Vancouver with first class seats in an SUV (a quick tweet would have sufficed), but I definitely feel that if the owner/management saw 10% of what I had to go through, even on their worst day, you would have seen two chatty Kathy's being tossed out on their assessment while he got his real staff to load my firearm of choice and a case of ammo into my ride while drafting a letter of apology, being so horrified that someone could be treated in such a disgusting manner in the store that he spent endless hours, days, months and years slaving to build a solid reputation for excellent customer service and amazing selections at more than fair prices to the consumer.

I do not feel like Reliable should be judged poorly based on the actions of what I am guessing to be a couple of temps that they brought in to help ensure that all of their customers were attended to in a timely matter in the midst of all of the chaos brought on by such an amazing sale. I am bummed out that I missed out on the experience that I have been looking forward to for quite some time and having my son's first gun store experience end with him being less than excited in the trip there as well. I'm trying to get him excited about shooting, seeing what is available to him, experiencing the excitement of the big sales and saving up for them so he can work towards buying the firearm that he saw at the event and will work his behind off to be able to get on his own. I got him worked up about the hustle of the store during the big sale, the excitement, cool extras big and small, from the free hotdogs to the awesome door prizes, including him on going through the sales ad to compile a list of what I was going to get, including the last if the AR parts to complete the build I am doing with his involvement (I never did get a response as to what muzzle brakes they had in stock, one of the two walked away when I asked, while the other just gave me a look like I just asked what colour his underwear were).

With that said, again, I don't believe for a second that this is what anyone should expect in dealing with Reliable at any time in the future; I think a couple of (really) bad apples just snuck in under their radar when they needed extra bodies to help with the sale. I believe that they had good intentions, and having a sale in the magnitude of this one just reinforces how they feel about their customers, so please don't feel as though I am trying to trash-talk Reliable at all. It was just a bad experience that unfortunately turned out to be bad timing for me in what I was hoping to do for my son, while getting some things that the sale made possible for us to afford.

And thank you Warren for messaging me to make sure that you got my details for a chance to win a door prize. That would make for a nice foot-note to add to the end if this experience :)

Happy (sales) hunting y'all!

In my experience, Reliable has some good staff and the owner himself is very helpful and straight to the point. I've bought from them for years from $10 items to thousands, and USUALLY got the services I needed and at good prices.

That being said, a couple of the staff there definitely need some training in customer services, since they don't seem to understand the concept of such a thing and only talk to you if you're "buddy buddy" with them. The false sense of superiority from a couple of them rubs me the wrong way so I usually ignore them. Maybe the owner doesn't see what the customers see so some of these feedback are good.

Way to go with the web site this year, no hiccups, was ready to go as soon as the timer ran out. Grabbed the last ATA shotgun at 50% off (thanks!) and immediately checked out as I suspected it was the purchasing that removes it from stock, not adding to the cart. Went back in for a leisurely look around and noticed that my 'Wish List' had been removed. I spent hours on your website this week looking at everything that I wanted and adding it to my wishlist as a convenient way to track everything I wanted. I dont know if that was a byproduct of shutting down the site or what, but see if you can keep wishlists intact next year.

And I second the motion that you guys have to double check your shipping costs, Canpar costs seem high. Thanks again for a great sale!
