375 Ruger

All 375 cal cartridges have a place in my heart but my favourites are the long and fat 375RUM (unfortunately for the cartridges 's popularity it is to much for most shooters so they spew against it) and the short and stubby 375JDJ (444Marlin brass necked down to .375) 260gr @ 2300fps...

If they made a 375WSM I'd have to have one of them as well and I'd snap up a stainless 375 Steyr T/C Prohunter barrel in a heart beat if I ever found one.

I see the .375 Ruger haters are out in full force, they could only resist so long. And they call us immature! Lol!

It's because they are sad, and misery always wants company. So they try to make us unhappy. But that's impossible, because we have NEW KINGS and if you have a NEW KING, then every day is filled with happiness!

Quite a few 375WSM's have been built. A 18-16" barrel one would be pretty cool. Guys get about 2800FPS with 235gr bullets from 16" barrels.

I am pretty satisfied with my rifle and shotgun "complement". I think I may try to snap up a .375 H & H , a .375 Steyr and a .375 Weatherby just for Sh*ts and Giggles. I love acquiring guns I've never shot. I may end up using a .375 for ALL my hunting. Coyotes included. Plus the .375 Weatherby is rare and I've never seen one in person. I love guns that are a pain in the arse to get/make ammo for.

I've used my 375 Ruger for grouse, coyote, deer, bear and moose. You are on the right track. :)

NEW KING ammo/brass is easy to find though. Much easier than most others you list. :)

Lol...... or maybe they recognize the teenage millennial iPhone user that flocks to the latest and greatest and declares everything else obsolete when they get one when they see them....... the mature world is all pretty sick of that type.......

Btw..... since you declared the .375 ruger the "universally accepted new king" I decided to google it...... after all, knowledge is power right?....... the only thing that popped up was a listing at 375 king street in Toronto....... maybe you should move there..... it could be destiny....... you could fit in great with the latest is greatest crowd and declare everyone else's stuff as obsolete...... while proclaiming you have the "latest and greatest"....... make sure you do it from an iPhone 7 or whatever is the latest soon to be obsolete device because you will get no "street cred" from your bretheren otherwise........

Btw, you may think you are funny insulting John regarding his carpet, but you are not..... it is old carpet, but I see no indication that it is "dirty"........ and even if it was, calling out a well respected member in open forum in regards to cleanliness of his home is uncool...... especially one that just underwent eye surgery....... it only serves to help paint the picture of your own immaturity........

It's a good cartridge you have there......... you would be best served to stop dragging it through your mud......

I can't believe this thread is 37 pages right now....

I am interested to see if the 375 Ruger will be as popular as the 375 H&H is now in 100 hundred years. If so, you can take a poll to see who the new king should be.

Saying that the 375 Ruger is the new king is like saying Justin Bieber is the new boss over Bruce Springsteen........

Right with you........ other than you need to change your settings so you can get 100 posts per page....... makes the forum so much easier to follow...... it's certainly a good cartridge, and I am interested to see if catches on as well.......

Angus the answer in your case is the 375b&m ...

What's the case capacity of the B&M compared to the H&H and 375 WSM? Any idea? I've never really looked at the B&M cartridges that closely but I think they are a little longer than the WSM and might be ideal for a mid length action.

I like all things 375. Ruger, H&H, Win., etc. I bought an H&H due to its reliability. I never read or heard that it didn't do the job, or not do the job well. it was a no brainer. 100 plus years of success in the field (and mostly where it counts) made my decision.

...

Assuming we still use metallic cartridges in 100 years, I fully expect the 375 Ruger to be chambered in 100 rifles for every single rifle that gets chambered in 375 H&H.

Already, new rifles chambered in 375 Ruger are outselling rifles chambered in 375 H&H, and it's less than ten years since the introduction of the NEW KING! In another 10 years more people will own a 375 Ruger than an H&H! :dancingbanana:

I've never used a dancing banana emoticon before .... so, might as well be the first here ..

To the .375 Ruger ! just because ....:dancingbanana:
