I woke up this morning at 3:45 am.
Got in the truck and drove to Virden to see the very, very nice folks at Wolverine.
I was parked in front of the store at 7:45. I had a very nice conversation with John, while Ryan was filling my order.
I have just returned home and had a quick look at the parts kits. So far I am very impressed!
The barrels on my heavys were manufactured in 1983. There is a litttle-to-no throat erosion showing on my gauge. The parts kits are mixed. I do not have a complete TRW kit, but I could assemble one with the parts in the kits. It's a smattering of H&R, SA, TRW and "X" (seriously it's an X where the manf stamp should be on the one bolt).
Remember, with the HB rifles, these were scoped "DMR" rifles, so the "rifle in a bag" with all the parts in it, was assembled (likely at a depot level) and tested to be a marksmans rifle. The so it doesn't really matter what the parts are in the bag, it met a minimum standard for accuracy when it was assembled!
I am very excited to get started on the builds I have planned for these parts. I'm also very excited for my customers who allowed me to pick-up their kits! It'll be like watching the kids on Christmas morning when I hand them their parts kit!
A great big thumbs up for the folks at Wolverine from me! And I really do appreciate the effort and hassle you guys went through to get these here, and at rock-bottom prices too! These kits would have easily cost me $2000 from my regular sources!
