Let's face it. T97 is a disaster but TI had no involvement in it.
These 30K are military spec, so the Canadian version can not be produced with the same parts or else ...... the RCMP ghost will show up.
I wonder if there are not enough orders if they'll even think it's worth doing the canadian run. This whole process has been so poorly handled.
So has TI given the factory a good faith deposit? Otherwise the factory has much better things to do then jerk around with a small Canadian order?
If not will the factory want full payment before they even start production??
This whole deal about paying in full with no fixed production date is kind of shady!!!!!! especially with the latest update.
Yup it appears July is "supposedly" when these will even start yo be manufactured.
So by all likelihood not till the fall/winter of 2017 IF THEN
Might be looking at a refund now
Why anyone would not ask for a refund on their deposit has me baffled?? Being this far away from possible production??
Then come June get everyone to pony up a $1,000 deposit . Then TI will know what the interest is and possibly get a larger order.
Keeping things the way they are does nothing to install confidence in TI??
If I had a deposit on a gun i would probably do what you are doing. My last deposit was on the Spartan 858's. and that was when they were landed in Canada. They used several tactics to keep my order in. First being the incentives of a free magazine and a sling. Second being a $50 gift card which in my case will go towards two more magazines. Third was a scare tactic, notice at the bottom of their update they made a point of saying existing orders have the price locked in. To me that suggests they may plan on raising the price "come June" if this does truly end up being the only production for the foreseeable future. Anyways until a better option comes along it's the best shot I got at getting my hands on the gun I want, so I'll continue to play the waiting game.![]()
Right. But the point some one was trying to make was that if north Sylva took over the quality would some how be questionable on the type 81 because some type 97 had a barrel gouge.
Which is a huge leap.

We all know how that worked out.. I bailed as soon as the CFO got involved
Hate to be a Debbie Downer but with these tied into a military contract run I can see these been given a second look!!
