TRG 22 start at $4000, TRG 42 at $5000. The stocks are very comfortable to use. Fully adjustable. Cadex actually has an option for the TRG series if one really wanted to change stock setup. KRG make a replacement stock as well. Mags are crazy priced but mags are over $100 for a 85 series as well.
In reality why would you spend that kind of money on a rifle that a stock change would be necessary? Same as the black wolf, not spending money on it to change out the stock. If a rifle doesn't fit right to start with why spend money. I'm not a fan of chassis style stocks, shot both Cadex and AI chassis and prefer the stock on the TRG. That's a personal thing nothing wrong with those chassis stocks.
The standard 85 series classic in wood weigh as much as the A7 roughtech pro. There's about $700 difference in price as well. If weight is a huge issue then the options are as much money as you would like to spend. Carbonlights are more than a TRG 22. The standard A7 is lighter as well.
I have no issues mounting a 30mm scope tube on my A7. Use same bases as Browning A bolt. No different than any other rifle I've dealt with. I have it mounted as low as possible .
3 shots I would hope would be enough for hunting, if I need more that's a really bad day.
Like anything it's all personal preference for what you look for or like in a rifle. I liked the roughtech pro. Stock fits me well, no need to change out. I like the aluminum bedding. I wanted a 24 inch barrel, using solid copper bullets so extra velocity is nice. Shoots sub moa, trigger is decent. Stock is adjustable for lop. The roughtech had everything I wanted for a hunting rifle, at price that made sense. No need to start upgrading.
The black wolf price point will be interesting to see. It's being marketed as a hunting rifle that is more ergonomic. Not a heavy range gun , not a light hunting rifle.
