Savage 10TR le/military

Anyone know if the Timney accutrigger replacement (#638) works with the bottom bolt release now? I seem to recall it mentioning that it doesn't on the site, but all it says now is incompatible with rimfire rifles. My info request to them went unanswered, so figured I'd see if anyone has tried recently. My 10TR is sitting in an MDT LSS-XL, if that matters.

Got a mount and some glass for the 10TR
Mount looks high (34mm ring height, which is close to 1.33" i guess)
As i have ordered the MDT ESS, and want to be able to run a full lenght handguard tube.
So far the build is fun, only thing i'd do different is the brake.
Looks too big, did not expect it to be so big.

Wow i love the look of that brake.
I had an ATRS at some point, call it lazyness or call it the lack of will to purchase a barrel vise, i don't want a brake that requires a crush washer for timing.
Does the nut swivel behind the brake? How is this one timed?

Yes, it does, it's self-indexing. Easy to put on and off with hands only. Here is a thread on CGN if you are interested to read more about it.

Marty, buy a Heathen muzzle break from Insite Arms. You need 0.885 body diameter. Not only it works great but it also looks fantastic. I just recently received this break for my 1 gen FCP-SR and was really impressed with its quality and fit.

Thanks for the recommendation, the brake looks and fits really good
More of a seamless style with the rifle
Brake has excellent reviews to top it off
Thanks again for the discovery

just picked up a 10tr and so far quite happy with it. but after some fondling i noticed a bit of a gap. i wanted to see if this is normal, or what. i can see the spring and such under the safty latch as showing in this pic.

SWEET thanks man got a savage mag and a 10tr WOO i am getting cash and a shirt. this pays for the bipod hahahaha

Actually tried it tonight
I didn't know recoil of a .308 could feel so tame, was also shooting indoors and wasn't perceived as that obnoxious guy, noise ain't that bad
Since indoors and close range, only shot a 10 round mag to test it out

Yes it is normal to have a little gap in the tongue of the action. It needs to be not touching in this areal, as I've read that a pressure on the tongue can wreck the accuracy. The fit is little different from rifle to rifle, as Savage are not reputed to have the nicest finish of all. But really not worst than Rem's.

I have just been reading about bedding my Savage. Apparently the tang area on Savages is "free floated".

I am proud of having won the 1st place (we were two with equal score) at a PRS competition in Québec, with my Savage 10TR.

The rifle didn't let me down :) The proof that a low end rig can have success in competition. And it's my first competition ever!!!
