I was totally stoked to hear this news. Man I really hope Max becomes PM in 2019. He seems like the best possibility of all the candidates on all sides. Of course I never trust any politician ever, but he seems the best of a bad lot, as it were.
He's really more dead center than anything. So many people seem to want to put libertarian types on the far right, but actually they belong dead center, as far away from Facism and Communism as they can possibly be. The political spectrum is best visualized as a horseshoe rather than a line, imo.

Indeed. I have some libertarian leanings for sure. But I consider myself a centrist in many ways as well. In fact, I'm slightly right of center economically/fiscally, but somewhat left of center on many social issues.
If he manages to win a majority government, he has no real excuse. Canada's electoral and government system means that we get a 4 year defacto dictatorship whenever a majority government is elected. He should have zero problems changing the laws if he has the will and the guts.
