I`ve had a hankering for a full metal gun for a while and have narrowed it down (pretty much) to these two - Sig P226 LDC or CZ Shadow 2

I want something thats built for accuracy so adjustable sights and full length rails - both of these guns fit the bill

Has anyone had the chance to compare both?

Other outside contenders for my cash are CZ Shadow 1 or P226 Legion (both good looking guns)

Thoughts?

I have a cz 75 sp-01 shadow, and I am extremely pleased with it :)

Extremely accurate.

Indeed - what kind of optic is that and how is it mounted?

In a lot of ways the Shadow 1 seems like a bargain compared to the other guns on my shortlist

The trigger on the LDC is un-freaking-real. I handled and ogled one at RDSC and was blown away by how great the trigger was.

I've owned an SP01 and a Legion P226, and the Sig is definitely what I'd spend my money on again.

I picked up a S2 in January. I do own a Sig 226 Elite Dark. While I do love the 226, if I was going for fast shooting and accuracy (at least in my hands), I'd buy the S2 over a 226. The only downside to the 226 for me is the higher bore axis over the S2. That said, I've never been crazy about the CZ75 look but it grew on me. Can't speak for the SAO Legion. I'd love to shoot one to find out.

Interesting

And does this hold zero with no issues?

7 matches and 2000+ rounds no problems that I didn't cause. Had to re-zero when I replaced the barrel bushing was about 6" low (with a cgw 10x)

I don't really care much the way it looks, but its def grown on me mostly cause how flat and accurate it shoots.

Jo Brook has the S2 on sale for $1299. ALL IN ie taxes and shipping if required. I wish I'd gotten my S2 at that price! Damn it! lol

Yup. I shot my buddy's Shadow 1 at the range a couple years ago and I knew I had to buy a Shadow eventually. It's hard to describe but to me it's the closest thing I have in the safe where I feel like I'm basically pointing and shooting AND with accuracy.

Yep, these shadow 2 deals are going around more and more.
Still wonder how people on the EE can pull off selling them for 1350$+ship and be SPF under 2 hours.
People need to get educamated!

If this goes on, i'll buy a brand new one and slap it on the EE!

To get back on topic, tried regular 226 and shadow 1, i find the CZ pistols are the best bang for buck. They resell quite well too if ever your needs should change.

Newbie here to the forum but I was torn with either buying a 226 or a shadow. Bought the CZ and never looked back. I love my Sp-01 Shadow and has been my go to range gun since I got it. The grip is phenomenal, the weight/ low bore axis/ inverted rails are amazing for control and low muzzle flip. also a natural pointer that I can shoot all day, and the SA pull and reset is unbelievable. Also the lack of FPB, full dust cover, fiber optic sights, etc etc= the best bang for your buck IMHO...Performs flawlessly......

Although my buddy has the Sig 226 Legion and it's a pretty fantastic firearm, the Shadow just feels better in my hands. All down to what feels better in yours, but for bang for your buck you can't go wrong with a CZ

Cheers

I can guarantee this isn't happening. If they are selling, it's probably at a reduced rate as all the offers i've had on mine reflect this.

To the OP practical accuracy wise there is nothing gained from one CZ to another all shoot about the same....excellent.

The SIG 226 series will shoot with them and so will the Beretta 92 series. Grip wise my Mk2 25 has the thickest grips in my hands. Not unmanageable but noticeably thicker than the CZ line (the CZ rubber grips are the most comfortable in my hands followed by their aluminum thin grips).

The Beretta 92A1 is a recent addition to my safe and has a lot going for it. It certainly is as accurate, using the three dot sights, as my CZ's and my Sig. Recoil control, when shooting the Beretta, is more manageable in my hands than the CZ which I would rank 2nd to the Beretta and ahead of the 226. It isn't much but, in my hands, the Beretta wins.

The CZ's are the heaviest of the these three guns due to their all steel construction. The Sig 226 and Beretta are alloy framed and weigh less. The Shadow2 is a 4lb brick in my view, far heavier than it needs to be but for those who see benefit for IPSC it has a market. I am not convinced the extra weight does much for most shooters - unless they forked out $1,400 for it then of course the gun has great benefit.

Decide what you want the gun for and buy what you like the most. Paying more doesn't always translate in getting significantly more. Buying an Olympic Free pistol for plinking really doesn't make much sense. Get what you want, that serves your uses the best, and what you can afford.

All of the above are just my experiences, others may have different views. Hope this helps.

Take Care

Bob
