I started hunting moose with a H&K G3A3 converted from full back in the day, never did shoot one with it. Israeli army surplus, only $500, was not to worried about scratching it. have a nor 305 with 6 kills to its name. had a bren I wanted to take, but timing and the new laws did not allow. it was fun in the old days with the bren, ww2 army surplus ammo was $70 per thousand, and spare barrels were $25. most of the ammo was end of war production, and hardly had a shoulder, the dies must have been worn out at that point. the bren did not mind fire forming at all
