Got a moose tag too..![]()
Yeah I am not big on the proof barrel, I should say can't afford it lol. I went with mate lite barrel and fortis 14, they advertise around six months and it only took 4, I guess I was lucky.
I hope you do a review once you get it, there few of them sonce most owner get blasted , right Dilligaf? While I do understand some of grievances with atrs owner, to me it doesn't change my personal experience with them and more importantly the product in my hand.
NL, moose galore.. lolMoose tag, in N-B?

From the black rifles I have experience with, I'd likely say a sub $2000 Tavor or XCR are the best bang for your buck. Both run really well, and are accurate enough to be lots of funIncredible value for under $2000 if you are ok with used. An honorable mention is the HK SL8. Accurate, "inexpensive", and reliable. Just not the best for run 'n gun without a few modifications.
If you're buying new, I'm going to go down the controversial path and say the Modern Vamint. A light, well balanced gun, that shoots well, runs very reliably, and is very modular. If you are like Epoxy, and have issues with its internal components, that's alright. Lots of other good guns to choose from, like the ACR, APC, XCR, Tavor, SL8, Swiss Arms, etc. I am just a really big fan of the MV.
And if you ask what I actually think you should buy? Definitely the Swiss Arms, with diopter sights. Heavy, poorly balanced, and not the easiest to mount optics or slings (for a lefty); but very accurate, an excellent stock trigger, and incredibly fun to run with the irons.
Sheesh, sorry to not give you much help. I just love all the NR black rifles![]()
I wouldn't have issues with the components if it was a $1500 gun. At it's current KAC price point, yes I expect better than consumer grade DPMS parts. I expect those in a $860 DPMS oracle but not in a $3350 carbine touted as "high end". That being said, it's a niche market firearm and as this thread points out, there aren't that many overall options. Whether it's worth it or not is an individual choice.
I agree about the Tavor at sub 2K. I bought a second one at that price point.
I have a Swiss Arms PE90 target model. When I bought it, it was hard to justify the price. These days, not a chance for what they want new. They're nice but not 4K nice. Ultimately I would probably go with an ACR for my next Non restricted 223/5.56 rifle. I keep coming back to them. I kind of liked the SL8 but by the time you do it up like the PE90 or ACR, it's often more expensive than either of those options. If I saw one for a smoking deal, I would consider it. But still, I see a lot of upgraded SL8 rifles looking like ACR rifles...
Mini's are on sale at cabelas .... Jump on it
Used SAN are not selling for 4K right? Meaning buying used is an option.
I've had a T97 for a few months, right out of the box it ran like a champ. I've run 400+ rounds with zero failures of any kind. It's accurate for what I wanted, and that's a light, compact 223 rifle for the wife to have at her disposal when out in the back country. The ergo' were designed by someone who never picked up a rifle in their life. Having said that, with trigger time and reps you can run the rifle well. For what I paid for the rifle, I'm very happy with it. Just need to work the mag well a bit for smooth operation. Compact, reliable, and fun to shoot. And damn does it ever throw brass at a weird angle. 30 feet to the 1 o'clock position.
